Thumbs down My Awesome Brother passed away....

On April 2nd my brother passed away from a massive heart attack. He was 52. It has broken my heart and my spirit that he is gone. He was the eldest of 8 of us and I am the baby. But strangely enough we were the closest. He was such a good guy and he was always there for anyone even strangers. I am going to miss him. I am so grateful I went to our Mothers for Easter with him. We drove out together and had some great conversation. I just needed to say something about him you know to help me maybe stop hurting. Thanks

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Death is such a hard concept to understand and the loss of a loved one always leaves a very deep hole in the lives of those left behind. Unfortunately, there is nothing anybody can say to stop your hurting. That will taper off with time.

You may find some comfort in reading the section on Death from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. Go here: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/5484/Gib27.htm

I am so sorry for your loss.

It always hurts to lose someone we love and 52 is young for a heart attack. I hope that you have the strength to move forward but always remember that your brother is still alive in your memories.

I hope he rests in peace.

Take care of yourself.

Thank You So Much

Yeah He was my Hero. Had a Military Burial. Had to fight for it though, that was the worst part to deal with. GGGRRR the Government makes me so mad.

I am very sorry for your loss. I too have lost loved ones at young ages. A website that helped me is: www.beyondindigo.com.

You may find some coping tools there.

I don't know what, if any, religious beliefs you or your brother may have practiced, but if you have faith perhaps you can find some comfort there as well.

I received this from my mom's Hospice.

GONE FROM MY SIGHT
---Henry Van Dyke

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"

"Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"

And that is dying.

I know it's heart-breaking but the last thing your brother would want is for your spirit to be broken. Add some of his to what you already have and keep him alive by doing good things with his help.

You'll be fine because you're strong. It will just take some time.

I'm sorry a military funeral became a hassle. Our veterans deserve better!

I'm sure your brother would love to be remembered as you describe him. Know that he will always be with you, even if his time here has passed. Having a person like that in your heart is forever.

Take care.
