The first and second part are very compelling.
The similarities between the Sun God Horus and Jesus are too many and too vast to think that their is just "one" savior that will lead you to the promised land if you are one of his believers.
I checked the facts on this movie as well, and while I couldn't confirm most of the Horus and Jesus similarities, I was able to confirm all of the Signs of the Zodiac and that the winter solstice does come on December 22, and the Sun does make its first sign of increasing days on the 25th.
Whatever chance that I had for even thinking that any religion wasn't just a good moral basis and a way to control it's followers; was stricken away when I found out about the astronomy roots of pretty much all religions which originated from monotheistic Judaism. Thomas Paine knew this, and was ostracized after the American Revolution for writing his book The Age Of Reason.
The way that religion has a hold over the American political system and the American way of life is sickening to me. Sunday Blue Laws? Swearing to God and putting your hand on the bible before going to the witness stand? "One Nation Under God?" "In God We Trust?" These are all horrible violations of the First Amendment.
I hope America will eventually snap out of it. We have made much progress since the the burning of witches at the stake and the Scopes Monkey Trial, but everytime I see someone not able to purchase wine on Sunday or see the fated words on my money, it is like the government is trying to indoctrinate me to believe in something I do not.
