Make the offer but don't force it. When somebody is going through pain and hurt, the last thing they want to do is be around a lot of people at a dinner table smiling and trying to be happy.
Everybody needs times to be reflective and to hurt in private and it's up to each person to decide when that time is.
Just let her know the offer stands and you'd love her to join you but don't keep pressing it or you'll piss her off...unless she elects to accept.
