Why would someone put single....

for their martial status on myspace when they are actually M? I got a Myspace account because I wanted to contact some old friends. As I was looking for old HS friends I lost contact with I came across my first love myspace. He contacted me via email 7 years ago. We caught each other up on our lives. He told me he was remarried and was happy. His first W wasn't very nice to him and basically trapped him into getting M by getting pregnant. I was seeing this man while he was living with her (yes I was the OW). The A just fizzled out and they got M less than 6 months after I moved away to college because she got PG. Anyhow, so I'm going through myspace and find his. He put single on it and this was about a year ago. He is not single, I know because his nephew has been dating my niece for 3 years and they are getting M. I talk to his parents all the time and they never mentioned once he was D and I know they would have. About a year ago I asked his parents how he was doing and they said he was doing great, had a wonderful W, and was happy. I also talk to one of his friends on a weekly basis and he never mentioned he was D again. Why would a MM put single if he wasn't out to find some action? Yes, this man was a player, big time. I just feel sorry for his W if he hasn't changed. From what he has said and what his parents have said about her she seems really nice and good for him.

Does he sign on a lot? When you first sign up it automatically indicates you are single. Maybe he never changed it? Are there pictures of his wife and or kids on there? Does he make any mention of her? If he doesn't go on a lot he may not be up to speed with all the uses.

OR...he could be looking for love? I have no idea.

That makes sense. No, he doesn't sign in a lot. Last time he signed on was over a year ago. I didn't realize it automatically put you as single. No pictures of himself or family. He probably just did a quick one w/o putting too much out there. Thanks!

I don't know how this hasn't occurred to you but it's probably so he can f*ck girls on the side.

You already admit that he was f*cking you on the side before until he got suckered into a marriage. Why wouldn't he be looking for more of the same a few years later.

True, but ya think after 20 years, growing up, and finding a better woman to spend his life w/ he wouldn't screw it up by screwing around.

His current W told him if he didn't quit drinking she was leaving him. Well, he did and I have heard from several ppl he is doing great.

I guess I'm just hoping he isn't screwing around on her. If he is then I guess that is his problem he needs to deal w/. I guess I was just hoping he would have hung his players shoes up a long time ago.

I know a couple who are both listed as single on their myspace pages. I think it's false advertising. They have this really complicated personal life where they are married but have an open relationship and date other people. But that's so bogus....listing yourself as single when you have possibly THE most complicated attachment that someone can have.

If he hasn't signed on in a long time I would say it's probably just defaulted to single. Obviously he doesn't use it for anything if he isn't on there often.

I agree with Confused.. he probably doesn't know it's on 'single'..

why would he take this chance... his W can certainly read his 'myspace' no?

Men are more negligent about these details... even on dating sites, they skip a lot of info..

It's one or the other. He's either searching for someone new, or didn't notice the category he checked off. I have a hard time with the second one, though.

If he was a player yrs ago, a good woman isn't going to change him so easily.
I tend to think he's still playin'.
Men can be dunces on some things, but not where it says he's M or not.

What does he put on his job apps?

I have my take on Myspace and it may not agree with many but it is MY take.

First off unless you are in a band and trying to promote your music in anyway I don't see the point of being on Myspace, and even less as a married person. For teens fine. I do think it is good for the arts. Outside of the arts that place is filled with predators and pedophiles and porn chicks, I just don't see the point of that place for adults as a common non artistic person unless you wanna hook up. So if you are neither there to promote your art, OR to hook up what the heck are you doing there?
Sorry but he knows exactly what he is doing he is milking it and will prob pretend he has no clue he is there appearing as single if he were to be confronted.

Facebook TOTALLY different story. Facebook is a place to look up with old buddies exes etc people promote themselves under their real names but there are limitations to searches and profiles also they are generally decent you don't see all the smutt you see on Myspace. I think Mysace is trailer trash, so if he is on there posing as single he is most definitely looking for action, though I beleive people don't really care either way, that place is a meatmarket and ANYTHING goes.
Not to mention Myspace profiles are generally annonymously taken out, most people don't take out profiles there under their own names so I don't see how that is supposedly a place to "search out old buddies"

I cringe when I hear of married people being on there just for the heck of it, for the heck of what? It is a know fact that Myspace is a TOTAL meatmarket.
