The Optimist & Pessimist Twin Brothers

A family had twin boys whose only resemblance to each other was their looks. If one felt it was too hot, the other thought it was too cold. If one said the TV was too loud, the other claimed the volume needed to be turned up. Opposite in every way, one was an eternal optimist, the other a doom & gloom pessimist. Just to see what would happen, on the twins' birthday their father loaded the pessimist's room with every immaginable toy and game. The optimist's room he loaded with horse manure. That night the father passed by the pessimist's room and found him sitting amid his new gifts crying bitterly.

" Why are you crying?" the father asked.

" Because my friends will be jealous, i'll have to read all these instructions before I can do anything with this stuff, I'll constantly need batteries, my toys will eventually get broken," answered the pessimist twin.

Passing the optimist twin's room, the father found him dancing for joy in the pile of manure. " What are you so happy about?" he asked.

To which his optimist twin replied, " There's got to be a pony in here somewhere!"

Yeah, and I've been looking for the pony for years!!! I'd say it's got to be pretty hungry by now.

Nice story.

The father can be jailed on child abuse charges for filling a child's room with manure.

I know, it was for the purposes of the story.

Parents will have to tell that to the judge.

Kids will be put in temporary custody of Childrens' Services until investigation is completed.

The judge won't understand at all.

Parents will get five years in jail.

Optimist and pessimist will both be orphans.

Optimist will be happy to get a bath.

Pessimist will be happy to be away from parents who would put brother into all that manure.

Moral of the story: Better to be born into rich family so parents can buy you a pony right off without having to wade through a lot of manure to find it.

Re: The Optimist & Pessimist Twin Brothers

good to hear a story (well, a joke anyway) where twins are NOT alike emotionally.

i'm a twin myself and we're like chalk and cheese and people always expect us to be alike, just because we're twins. we don't even look alike, so go figure.

...i bet he had a ***** of a time trying to find that pony.
