Do you know any meals to encourage weight loss

hey everyone..
well lately i've noticed that i'm gaining weight more weight because i'm unsure of what kinds of foods to eat. i'm actually 105 LBS, not heavy, definitely not overweight but my body is getting flabby. i eat a lot of rice and junk food, and i love beer [i don't want to give this up!..]. people say i look so much healthier and better than when i weighed 90-95 Lbs. I used to work out 5 times a week and basically eat the same foods every day so I would maintain my weight of 90-95 LBS. My old diet consisted of the following:

Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: a 6 inch roast beef sandwich from Subway & baked lays chips
Dinner: Roasted chicken with a spinach salad

after awhile, I kind of just gave up. How I longed for an oatmeal or chocolate chip cookie. Then another, then another... then by the time I knew it, I kind of got out of my old ways. And I'm just afraid of depriving myself from all those things again because I'm happy when I enjoy what I'm eating.

The thing is, though is that I miss my old self. I miss how my cheekbones were more defined and how I wasn't noticeably flabby. Now.. let me say clarify something before anyone thinks I have some sort of an eating disorder or compulsion. I never had a problem. I can't stand depriving myself of food or even to think of throwing up. I want to do things the natural way. I know that counting calories aren't everything when it comes to weight loss [which was something I used to base my old diet on]but now I've learned that protein helps a lot when trying to lose weight.

Does anyone know a meal plan or certain foods to eat that will encourage weight loss? I really don't want to get into that trap of eating the same foods every day because not only will my body develop a resistance against these foods, I'd get terribly sick of eating the same things as it gets extremely boring and it also made me moody at times.

Any suggestions? thanks!

Thumbs up

You didn't really specify what kind of rice but if you're eating white then one easy switch is to start eating brown rice. Avoid starchy foods in general; wheat bread instead of white bread, etc...

And drink an ass-ton of water.

oops, i accidently posted my thread twice. i'm eager for a response but i didn't mean to overdo it. hehe. anyway. in my old meal plan, I occassionally ate brown rice. I still do eat brown rice. But as of late, I've been eating a lot of white rice.. though the difference between white and brown rice isn't a whole lot. They both aren't really good cause they both turn to sugar. and anything white, i usually eat it brown. i.e. white rice = brown rice, white bread = whole wheat bread, pasta = whole wheat pasta/kamut spirals. water helps, but i like beer too which is my downfall. speaking of beer, do you know of any low cal beer? i'm thinkin of grabbing a few tonite and i don't want to further jeopardize my chances of weight loss but anyway, thanks for the response, much appreciated

The problem with alcohol is that it has calories in and of itself. The lowest calorie beer you're going to find will still have around 90 calories per beer. You could also switch to hard liquor and water or diet soda but that's still around 100 calories per drink. But it's a little better than up to 150 calories per drink for regular beer.

yeah.. it sucks how alcohol has calories. and a lottttt! hard liquor deceived me. i thought it had less calories in it than beer, but nope, just as much if not even more. i know that heineken light is one of the lowest cal beers, it has 99 calories. woohoo. it even has less than bud lite, which is like 110. weird. and THAT is like water. but anyway. that's a diff story. lol.
