female roommates?!

Things between my boyfriend of over 10 months and I are great. We are a semi-LDR, only seeing each other on the weekends. He says he loves me more than anything, and I know it's true.

So here's my problem: his lease is up, and he didn't know where to live. One day at lunch with one of his female friends from high school, she suggests that he live with her best friend and another girl. We had talked about it later and I said I didn't love it, but it wasn't my decision and he was allowed to make his own decisions. Well, plans with one of his male friends fell through and I learned this past week that he is checking out places with these 2 girls today. The one he has known his whole life as a neighbor, and I have met her, and the other he slipped in that she has a boyfriend. Should I worry? We are not married, and he is allowed to live wherever he wants to live... and it is a good deal for him financially... but I am really not so crazy about this!!

Has anyone had an experience like this?

Usually, co-ed rooming arrangements don't encourage the hanky panky. I've heard some exceptions to the rule, but usually being in that close proximity kills most romantic feelings. I can see why you are worried, but it sounds kosher to me.

Yeah, I agree with jcster. Actually, what happened to me was, I kind of had a little bitty crush on this guy, and when I was living in a large house with three other people, he wanted to move in because my roommate is his best friend. Well, once he moved in, guess what happened?...ALL attraction gone.

I don't know if it was me seeing him in his pajamas, laying drunk on the living room floor, or him stealing my coffee beans and Fritos... but I'm just saying I wouldn't worry about it.

Has he ever considered moving in with you? Or is that not an option?

If you don't trust your boyfriend to be around women without doing something you disapprove of, then you shouldn't be with him.

I would feel weird about it meself if I were in your shoes. For me I might trust my partner, but I don't really trust random women. I've been bitten in the ass so many times that I'm a bit gunshy now.

So to validate you -- yes I think being wary of the situation is perfectly normal. But the thing is you just have to take a hold of yourself and muscle through it because your boyfriend has the right to live wherever he wants.
