LDR - Success?

Has anyone been in a LDR, split up, then got back together when they were eventually in the same time zone?

Not me. Took us 3 years to meet. We were in the same time Zone. Montreal Quebec vs Ft Lauderdale, Fla

These are success stories I would like to hear about too.

A guy I was seeing, albeit very briefly, went abroad for a year. Things seemed to go well and he was keen to keep things going for a while then called things off saying "it was too difficult with him living in another country"

I know these could be euphemisms for "I've met someone else" or "I just don't like you anymore".

I am hoping that it does mean just that, that it is too difficult keeping it going whilst away and that maybe he would like things to carry on when he came back to the UK.

So I would like to hear about anyone's experiences with this type of situation
