Can't take it anymore!!

UGH!! I am so floored! I can't take it and I HAVE to ask you what you would do.

Quick background: I work in radio and I do airborne traffic reports with a split shift. I work mornings and afternoons (5 hour break in between).

The other traffic girl is not at all reliable. She calls in sick ALL the time. She has been vomiting on and off for days at a time since December and she is sick again this afternoon which means I have to cover for her.

I hope that doesn't come across wrong. I don't mind covering her radio stations at all and I am happy to help out, BUT she is sick so often it is getting to me. I have a raging headache and probably a fever and I really could have called in sick this afternoon. Maybe I am just feeling so annoyed because I am sick, but would you mention anything to any of your bosses in this situation? And I don't want to 'tattle' but I am concerned she has been so sick lately and she is so unreliable.

Thanks
Hugs!

Nope. If you notice it then chances are the people who are paying her notice it as well. And if they haven't noticed--which is unlikely--you're only going to make yourself look bad by pointing it out. Sometimes it pays more to keep your mouth shut.

If I'm not getting paid extra to cover for another employee that often, then I'd be frustrated as hell too and complain to them about her too but cool off and be polite about it of course.

Thanks you guys! I really don't want to come across as a tattle because I respect and value what my boss thinks of me. I think I will keep my mouth shut for now, but it is getting ridiculous!
