mom driving me insane!

My issue seems to be like everyone elses. My mother is the bane of my issues. She has called me every name in the book, I get blamed for **** I don't do. She puts me down in front of all my friends and employers. I've lost 2 jobs because of her. And every guy who I think is perfect to bring home she scares them off.

I use to love the holidays with a passion not because of presents or anything but because of what it stands for. Well she has gone and ruined that with negativity. I'm 19 right now and I've told my father that I can't take much more of the crap.

Unfortunatly I'm her only child, not sure if that is a blessing or punishment. My dad says without me she would fall to peices.

I'll admit i'm not the perfect daughter I have my bad points but doesn't everyone. I am lazy, for awhile there I wasn't making good grade but I've turned that around. I do try to help out around the house but being criticized everytime you do something it wears thin very quickly and soon you don't want to do anything.

And for those of you who's advice is to talk to her about how I feel, "Been there done that, lost my head after 5 minutes of talking to her, and listened to her yell at me for 3 hours none stop." I figure by the time I'm 22 I'm going to need therapy, do you think they offer a family plan? lol

My home life could be worse, its just sometimes I rather deal with physical abuse than verbal abuse. At least once the physical abuse heals its done and over, the verbal abuse stays with you for life.

Thanks for listening!
Happy Holidays!

It's really all up to you to take the abuse or not...if you don't want to take it, as you shouldn't, then leave...simple as that!

Yep, you're her emotional crutch and no it's not healthy.

Why wait, therapy is a great idea. A good therapist will give you the tools you need to cope and deal with the unhealthy family dynamic.
