Not bring it up again?

Not sure how to handle this situation. It's not a big deal, just wanted some opinions.

There's this guy at work. We're friends. We hang out outside of work sometimes. A few months ago at a party, he asked me out. I said "maybe", because he's nice, and attractive, but it caught me off guard and I am still in recovery from my breakup last Feb.

The issue is that since then our day-to-day conversations have shown that we are definietely not compatible romantically.

But I do wonder if this will ever come up again- no mention of anything has been made since the party though there might have been a half-@ssed attempt at a movie invitation. I don't really want to bring it up, I think I should just let it silently be apparent we're better off just friends.

Should I just let it lie?

I would let it lie. No use bringing up a potentially sore subject, and if you did it might ruin the friendship.

I don't think it's much of a sore subject, at least, I don't think so. It's hard to tell how interested he was, but my sense was it was more casual interest than full-fledged crush.

But I don't know, I am terrible at that stuff.

I'm gonna just let it alone. He's too lazy and flaky for a bf, but okay for just a friend.

Yeah if he's lazy and flakey, no need to bring it up. THe thing is, you might get the whole, "WHY?" thing, and you might be tempted to be honest. Which we both know would hurt his feelings b/c who likes admitting that they are lazy and flakey?

He's already admitted being lazy.

And I've made it clear I don't like lazy guys.

So I suppose we've left it at that.
