So you don't really want him to stop being flirtatious, because actually you like him. What you want is to be able to distinguish between the flirting he does with everyone else and the flirting he does with you, so that you can figure out whether or not he's attracted to you or whether he's just flirting because he does it to everyone. Unfortunately the only way to figure that out is either to a)Ask him out, or b)Flirt back and see where it leads. If he likes you it'll lead somewhere!

Tell him. Don't play games, just be honest. Don't just flirt back and hope to somehow stand out from all the other groupies he surrounds himself with. You'll just end up sleeping with the guy and still not be any closer to your goal, of having a real relationship with him, than you were before.
