Hello,
my fiance has come to the agreement of going for tx at a methadone clinic for his narcotic addiction. i gave him an ultimatum and told him he needs to get help or i cant be with him. Practically every day or every other day he was asking for money. He pawned my flat screen which he said he will get back and he went into my purse to take a check which i cancelled as soon as i found out it was gone out of my purse; he tried to cash but it was stamp cancelled. He gives me such a guilt trip sometimes saying i dont care or whatever. the thing is i do care very much about him but not enough to just give him money all the time for drugs; unLESS it goes towards getting him recovered i am willing to provide him with some money. but has anyone taken methadone and have you found out that it works?? i told him its not a quick rocovery but you need to go and get dosed everyday and gradually decrease if possible but i think he could be on it for the rest of his life due to chronic pain of having a back injury. i tell him at least your not using needles and your chances of getting a transmitted disease is also decreased. i am hopeful that this tx will work along with group meetings. well have a good day.
