Just thought I'd provide her some reading material for our date tonight. Why not share? :)

When I wake up beside you,

With joy I am rife,

As I lay next to you,

My beautiful wife.

You love me through sadness,

Sorrow, and strife,

And I love you right back,

My beautiful wife.

To be without you,

Would cut like a knife,

I'll be with you always,

My beautiful wife.

You are my best friend,

My lover, my life,

But most of all,

You are always my wife.

Wow, you're a much better poet than I am, I gave my wife this:

Roses are red,

the grass is green.

I love your legs,

and what's in between!

How sweet! Did she like it?

Of course :)

I met her after work for dinner, I was supposed to be bringing her some other papers anyways so I printed it out and stuck it inside a card and slipped it in the middle of the other papers. We both had separate cars since I met her at work, so she was looking through the papers as she drove, and when we got to where we were going, she greeted me with the biggest smile, hug, and kiss.

That is a beautiful poem and a sweet way to deliver it. Men don't use poetry enough when dating a woman. When my husband and I were first dating he used to write little poetic things in all the cards he gave me. Sometimes they were quoted poems and other times he would write his own. I loved it and I think most women do. Even now that we're married, he still does it from time to time to surprise me.

I have been married once before and learned some very valuable lessons. Now that I've remarried to a wonderful woman I try to do all the little things that let her know how much she means to me. I truly do cherish her. I write some poetry from time to time. Most if it corny but heart felt. I'm no poet but she loves that I put the effort in. I wrote her this one today and emailed it to her for no reason other than I was thinking about her and how much she means to me and I wanted her to know that.

It’s the way your eyes sparkle in the soft glow of the nightstand lamp.

It’s the way you run to touch me when your hands are cold and damp.

It’s the smell of your hair while your head lies on my chest.

It's the way you constantly pick at me and act like a pest.

It’s the way you hold my daughter when she’s feeling bad.

It’s the way you calm my son, when he’s upset and mad.

It’s your great big heart, that’s so full of love.

It’s your faith and relationship with God above.

It’s the way you look for the lesson, in all of life’s struggles.

It’s the way you nuzzle your face into mine when we snuggle.

It’s that cute little smirk you give me when I catch your stare.

It’s the way you make me feel inside, no one else can compare.

I could write a million reasons why, I love you to the core,

But then tomorrow I’d have to start again, cause there’d be a million more.
