ThomasD
What does your wife like to receive as a gift? Start with that. Without knowing anything about you or her, any ideas would be a real shot in the dark. I love the weekend away idea. In larger cities you can sometimes find good values in "Weekend Getaway Packages" at downtown hotels that are full of business travelers during the week but low occupancy on weekends. Another option is jewellery. Can't go wrong with a shiny token of love. A string of pearls and sexy negligee, with the message that they should be worn together. If you've recently moved, there must be ideas screaming at you in every room of the place! Decent quality wall art, lamps, accent rugs, etc. If it's up your alley and you know she REALLY wants some decorative touch like crown molding, or chair rail and wainscot, or hardwood flooring, install it for her. Gift certificate to an upscale resale shop - and go with her to try things on. Edited November 20, 2013 by ThomasD

imfine
Perhaps a spa weekend away (no kids) will help you both unwind.
