Working hours around the world

Mexico has a 48 hour work week. Low pay. Very high taxes. Most line workers uneducated, slow, have absurd job protections, low production, Extensive Gov't corruption. The ecinomy will always be poor. That's what the U.S. wants and requires.

Well rested happy workers who feel secure in their job will work harder and be more productive even if in a shorter time span then ones who are stressed over worked and under appreciated makes perfect sense to me..

Utopia=

30-35 hour work week, with long shifts, i.e. three 11 hour shifts or four 8 hour shifts. This wastes less time on dressing up, driving, etc. The lower hours cause more people to be employed, thus reducing the welfare class which typically consumes both money, and government services, and perpetual depression.

So since overworked and non-working people are a bit more dysfunctional, a 33 hour a week schedule reduces that at both ends. And... few long shifts allows the other days for staff to fill in during emergencies, etc.

Not all industries can accommodate, but conceptually I agree in low work hours.
