How do you Actually Look for Work after being Tested and proved Disabled?

Recommended Posts

What's the next steps to take.

Cause you're found to have a disablity etc. like in my case speaking, and all my body is damaged(can't walk well etc)

So then what, if you just start going to interviews and trying normal way of finding jobs, you just get nothing cause they're not impressed in your performance in interviews. That's how it's always been for me. I tried my best, practiced from Interview books etc and I even thought i did well and never got a job on my own, i had to go to the temp agencies

where they always give me the lowest jobs that i have always done and that don't pay enough to live. Jobs that i could do before because i used to be strong and athletic to lift boxes etc but no i can't do.

So anyways whta's next?

IF they noted i got some problem with my speech for example, they would tell me you need to have regular basis to come to our office to help you get better.

with what??? NO MONEY?? I'm poor so i can't.

I'll pay for the speech asses which will be like a few hundred dollars, or something but after that i dont want to pay more. And i can't.

You may be eligible for state or federal aid depending on what level your physical disability is. But it sounds like you want to work.

These are state organizations that are involved in vocational rehabilitation-getting people into or back to work when faced with disabilities.

Also talk to county health and human services.

Go to your local United Way/ Community noticeboard website and find a support group-the processes of filing all this paperwork may seem daunting and it would help to have actual people who have been there. Keep in mind that times are hard and the resources of peers, mentors, social workers are also going to be stretched thin, so above all have patience.

Check your state government for assistance for persons with disabilities. Usually there is a state office where one can apply for help with special education and placement in a job. Jobs are tough right now for everyone but in the past, some employers have turned to state agencies to employ the handicapped, disabled or those with psycho-social disorders.

You have been tested and proved disabled? What was the disability diagnosis (I assume this is from a MD).

Have you start the application process for SSDI or SSI?

Bump.

You ever think about coming back and responding to your own damn threads? The ones that people take time to answer and respond to?

try to seek help from your government, or NGOs in your place that serve people like you..as far as i know a lot of private entities around the world who serve pwd for them to be productive and advocate their rights as well...

This is what I want to know but the OP never provides a reply. Where are the facts? What have you been diagnosed with? What type of specialists have you seen? I don't understand why you won't seek an actual diagnosis instead of posting a million threads about how you "don't speak well."
