Springsummer
Physician killed, neurosurgeon husband charged with murder: 'How could this all happen?' - Toronto - CBC News It could drive a neurosurgeon to kill his physician wife. I can only imagine how hard it is to become a medical specialist and he threw his life and career because of marital problems? Is relationship really that important? um... if I were a neurosurgeon, I don't think I will threw my life's hard work away over an estranged partner:( Edited December 5, 2016 by Springsummer
basil67
Are you suggesting that you'd understand if a man with a lesser job killed his partner?
Weezy1973
Many emotionally unhealthy people value their self worth from external sources. If your external source of love goes away, so does your meaning for living...so suicide. You can assess how emotionally healthy you are from determining if your self worth is internal (i.e. you always feel worthy of love regardless of what is happening around you), or external (i.e. you determine your worthiness based on others). External = needing therapy. Internal = emotionally healthy.

I'd say that this result is an indicator of why they were estranged . . .

Raena
I can't imagine it has anything to with whether his relationship was more important than his life's work... he either lost his mind when his marriage was falling apart or he's a psychopath and planned it. It's hard to say. The emotions that your body goes through at a break up can be overwhelming. It's a shock to the entire system. Some people handle it ok, others lose their mind. Redhead14
I thought you have to be very smart and mentally tough to be a surgeon?? This guy wasn't as much as he could/should have been. We do not know his history. Surgeons, doctors are human and can be overcome by stress just like anyone else and everyone has a breaking point . . .
anika99
I thought you have to be very smart and mentally tough to be a surgeon?? I've read that it's not uncommon for incredibly successful people to have mental issues, especially personality disorders like narcissism. In any case, when it comes to commiting crimes of passion I don't think professions matter.
VeveCakes
The fact that they found her in luggage under a bridge says it all....psychopath.. as someone who is fascinated by murderers...I can tell you many MANY high profile people with good jobs murder. Think of Russell Williams who was the head of the ENTIRE Canadian Military. They are total psychopaths and one day it just catches up with them.
Author Springsummer
It seems Canada has produced quite a lot of mass murderers...maybe has something to do with the long and depressing winter?
VeveCakes
It seems Canada has produced quite a lot of mass murderers...maybe has something to do with the long and depressing winter? well this wasn't a mass murder? I think every country has it's share....watch some Forensic Files on Netflix, over 200 episodes of Americans killing. I don't think it is culturally related....although the mass gun murders are definitely more of an American thing. FYI the winter isn't long and depressing to Canadians lol
Author Springsummer
FYI the winter isn't long and depressing to Canadians lol oh, yeah, when it snows and you enjoy winter sports lol but when it doesn't snow, just cold and brown and/or you don't do any winter sports, I can see how it can suck major.
