The only person that will go with me is my mum but will it look weird or pathetic bringing my mum to a bar to see a comedy gig? My only concerns here are 1). will you be OK around your mom if the comedian is raunchy? and 2). do not let the comedian know she's your mom or you will become the subject of the jokes. She always has a blast and no one thinks it was weird that I'm hanging out with her. If your mom will have a good time and she wants to go then go for it. I had a new acquaintance the other day urge me very strongly to make the most of my mom while I still have her as his ended her life last year and he misses her every day. I didn't mention my own mom died four years ago and that I'd give anything in the world to spend time with her again. Go for it. Trust me, most moms who've spent years wiping your arse, feeding you, clothing you, going without for you to have everything, the small act of their adult kid taking them out somewhere for a meal or to see a show means the absolute world.
