spook1
Hello, How long does a divorce take in Pennsylvania from start to finish? My husband filed last April and it's still not finalized. The clerk of courts told me he hasn't proceeded. What does this mean? thanks
d0nnivain
It depends. In the northeast, I'd say at least 2 years. There's a backlog. Also the more you fight, the longer it drags out.
GorillaTheater
The clerk of courts told me he hasn't proceeded. What does this mean? thanks Sounds to me like your H hasn't taken the necessary steps to get the case to the court. The problem is that not only does that leave you in legal limbo, but also that the case runs the risk of getting dismissed for want of prosecution, though that varies greatly from jursidiction to jurisdiction. Do you have a lawyer? Do you want the divorce in the first place? Does he at this point?
Author spook1
Hi Gorilla Theater, I do not have an attorney for all my H seeks is a divorce. I don't want the divorce, I still love him and want to be with him. Yes, my H does want the divorce.
d0nnivain
Get an attorney before you get involuntarily booted out of your marriage with nothing. Failing to protect yourself will not make him want to fix things.
