hard to read guy . . .

Recommended Posts

So I've had a crush on this guy I work with for at least the past two months. However, I have not let anyone know how I feel, and while I am friendly with this guy I'm afraid to be too friendly for fear that he doesn't feel the same way.

In the past few weeks, we've hung out outside of work, once at a party, once after work with friends, and the last time after work with just the two of us. Conversations are good. I finally got up the guts to ask for his number and he gave it to me. The day after we hung out together (just the two of us) another guy at work tells me that this guy has a crush on me - that he is always talking about me. I was actually pretty suprised! I just keep wondering if he is doing the same thing I am doing - acting friendly, but being afraid to make a move? Or perhaps he is undecided about me? I know he hangs out with some other girl from time to time that he has known for awhile.

This is all so confusing to me. I called him today and he did not answer, so I left a message wishing him a happy birthday. Now I'm pissed at myself for even calling him, afraid that I shouldn't have - you know, the whole thing about how you can chase a guy away . . . that you should remain more distant and out of reach if you want to keep a guy interested. Aaargh, this is driving me crazy because I really like him but have no idea how he feels. Are we both playing games here because we're afraid to be hurt? Or is it possible that he doesn't like me as much as I like him? Would you go out with a girl alone that you were not interested in? Any advice is much appreciated.

Well, I can't tell you what he thinks, but there seems to be a pretty good chance that he's interested. But either way, you really have nothing to lose by asking him if he would want to go out together on a date. If he says, yes, you have what you want, and if he says no, you know the answer to your question and can move on with your life. Remember the old adage, nothing ventured, nothing gained,
