On being a fun person to be around or finding your own pond

As the title proclaims, I am by nature a serious, uptight person who “doesn’t lighten up”, and cares about what other people think of me too much. I don’t drink, listen to rap or wear a cap backwards because I think it’s immature. I definitely hate parties and am very selective with the guy friends I look for because I can’t be a “bro” who curses in every sentence.

My point is, do I have to find a woman who is conservative (not necessarily Republican, but frequently), religious and raised by a strict father? Everyone tells me “be yourself”, but for me, being myself means being a boring person that most people don’t like because they want someone who is “fun to be around” and has a sense of humor. Being a gentleman seems to not be enough for some people. I go to church and have a job but never party and yet I’m considered a weirdo.

I have to mention that Asperger’s syndrome is largely the cause of this. I have no idea how humor works so I’d rather not work on it when I already tried and failed a billion times. Does anyone have advice besides moving to a better area in search of love? I am a virgin at 25 so most liberal woman would not consider me dating material. If I end up going to a place like Atlanta for work, I’d make it a point to settle in Newnan, Cumming or some other conservative suburb and hopefully find a good woman there who looks for marriage.

Don't change a thing about yourself. You will find someone.

Perhaps, if I find my own group of like minded people.

A slightly left of field question for you - what are you defining as "boring"? Do you mean "boring" to most others or do you think you bore yourself?

What do you like doing with yourself? Do you do things in your spare time that YOU consider interesting/fun? If not, why not? And why does it matter if it's high brow? My point is that someone is going to find you fun or interesting, or even just refreshing. There's enough conservative type people out there that you'll find them if you look in the right places.

Boring is very much subjective.

Life of the party types usually have a lot of people in their lives, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have anyone really close with whom they feel truly connected. And for you, those types would almost certainly be boring and hold little interest. So no need to worry about what they think of you.

Be who you are, do what you enjoy doing, you'll meet people with whom you have things in common.
