Girl sat in front of me at lunch-got mad because

Recommended Posts

I never talked to her before, and I don't know why she sat there, other than lack of seats at a busy time. She has a hot friend, who might have set her on me to see what I'm like.

But she had on a tight shirt, and so her boobs were pretty noticeable. And looking at my plate at a normal angle would mean I'd be staring at them basically.

And I just thought to myself 'what am I going to do, stare at your t's the whole time?!? ' What girl ever wants that, especially from a social outcast like me.

So I just put my head down and looked mean/crazy and never looked up/over once.

Maybe a normal guy would have tried talking to her, but she has friends, and I don't want to know her friends, I'm a ghost, no friends, and quite used to it.

I'd talk to her, but I'd have to separate her from her social life, so that's never going to happen.

You'd have to separate her from her social life? What the? Sounds like you just don't have the confidence to even acknowledge a woman. You better do some work on yourself.

A regular person would have just met their eyes briefly and nodded or raised their eyebrows or quick smile and broken the ice. It's not rocket science. You are spending way too much time berating yourself and feeling sorry for yourself. If you can't even be friendly to people around you, time to get some counseling. Doesn't mean you'll end up with the hottest girl, though, because only the hottest guys end up with the hottest girls. But you need to learn to be friendly and open and not assume everyone is doing something because you're in the room.

Well I mean I don't want to hang out with her friends at all. If we met in a foreign country or doing field research in the middle of nowhere, then we might be friends.

But for now I don't plan on ever even saying hi..........so no wonder I feel so miserable about it.

The first post in this thread sorta reads to me like its part of a longer conversation ... am I not seeing something?

Taking it at face value, I gotta say, from my own perspective, if a girl doesn't want me to notice her boobs then she won't wear a sheer top that shows them off - that statement won't get me any love from the feminist types, but I don't care - I'll take a good long appreciative look, then get on with normal business. ie, don't leer, thats just rude, in any scenario, but I'll take the time for a nice long look.

I'm the same by the way, I go to the gym regularly and am moderately well developed (not a body builder!) If I want people to notice, I'll wear form fitting clothes, and the girls notice (!!!) - and thats great. Doesn't mean I want to sex them up, but its nice.

As Preraph said though, you meet their eyes for a moment, acknowledge their existence, then get on with lunch. If your reaction is to stare downwards at your crotch or intently at your food in a non natural way, you're just going to come off as creepy and damaged. Don't do that. If you don't have any interest in the girl, or her friends, so be it - no-one is forcing you to interact with them in any meaningful way, so eat your lunch, get on with life.

OP. I see you've posted a couple of things similar to this recently. About how you are not social, have no friends, can't talk to women, etc. I am just curious. How old are you?

It would serve you well to understand the difference between being social and friendly without a motive to screw the female. In your daily life, you’ll often encounter situations where this will be true. You seem to pride yourself on being an outcast, as the odd one in the bunch but this merely shows a lack of understanding with society, how it works, and how this will work to your disadvantage if you don’t get a handle on it.

I don’t think the girl was angry. She probably just thought you were weird. I guess you need to ask yourself why you choose to come off that way.

Older than time itself

What is time, now that's 1 of the great mysteries. We can do stuff with math that we humans relate to as time. But what are we really doing, and what does it really mean ?

Lately I'm just thinking time is just a way to allow change. And any type of "time travel" to the past would only be equivalent to taking every particle/wave/whatever and changing it to an earlier state. And I know there's a lot of math problems with that, from stuff that seems to work from QM and SR/GR.

This is what I mean, though. You need to get to where you enjoy hanging out with a group of friends. There is no woman on earth who is going to not have girlfriends, and I don't see why this should bother you. You don't have to love them. You only have to be polite and reasonably friendly. Didn't your parents teach you how to just be polite to people? See, your wanting to only deal with her alone is extremely controlling, and it's going to send up a red flag warning to any woman, because being controlling, trying to separate you from your friends and others are all serious signs of an abusive person. So I feel you're like that because of your social anxiety or general anxiety, and that, you can certainly improve a lot through therapy and meds. Anxiety is often very fixable with safe meds, plus some behavior therapy. You need this. You're letting it paralyze you. You're acting like you'd try out this woman but that she has friends. Now, I know you know how crazy that sounds! This is all you, trying to make the world conform to your weaknesses that you need to just get professional help and deal with, and I hope you do. I'm sure you're a nice person and it's a shame if you let this keep you isolated.

Generally I just figure they will all gossip and laugh at me, or worse, bully me or lead to violence in some way with other guys. And I don't want that and can't handle it, and don't want to go to jail/hospital.

And having no friends means I have no backup, so I always figure that even if I won a fight, that I will just get jumped by the fight loser's friends, down the road, when I'm just out walking.

You’re like a particle — whenever someone tries to pin you down to something, you change positions.

Ok, it’s been said over and over again by people who have had near-death experiences that time ceases to exist. So, there’s that perspective.

It was simple question, and we're not in a sci-fi novel here. If you want some genuine help and opinions, tell us how old you are so we can tell if you're a normal awkward 15-year-old or a 30-year-old virgin who needs therapy.
