Men get broody too

Recommended Posts

Well i became single about 3 months ago now. I've not been single properly for the past 5-6 years and had a really difficult breakup. We tried for children and then it all went wrong. I'm still to this day devastated. It constantly plays on my mind that losing my job potentially cost me my chance of marriage and kids.

I've had a fantastic life and don't regret leaving it late as I've done everything I wanted to do but I'm struggling badly to get over this break up as it felt like the final piece of the puzzle and now that's gone. I have tried to get back into dating but it seems impossible now. Every one seems to use apps and I hate using them, it also seems harder and harder to find someone genuinely nice. I may be bitter due to the breakup but it seems now every one is out to be selfish and nice people are genuinely hard to find.

Around 6 years ago I was in a relationship with a woman who already had a 1 year old baby. We where together 2 years and I helped raise him for those 2 years and in all honesty I loved it. I'd love my own kids but I've gone from having a house with my partner looking to try for kids to now... single living with a friend and everyday I pick myself up, look at the positives but eventually the negatives hit me and I feel depressed.

Not really a question just needed a rant.

I've told others here that were involved in Single mom relationships...Its really tough. Do not view yourself as a failure. She is in a every complicated position and you are goal orientated and driven.

As for looking for others to date and build upon relationships...I feel ya. The general game has changed and now you are just seeing the things that you don't like. But there is hope. There are plenty of good ones out there. It's just they are in the same boat as you. Start doing things for yourself if you haven't already. Try new things and learn new subjects. You will be amazed at the time that goes by when you don't even think about feeling low. Best of luck.
