Mid 30s to early 40s women dating men in their 20s.

Does anyone have experience with this? I am a point in my life I feel independent and semi satisfied with my self. I have noticed that men in the same age bracket tend to go into relationships with chips on their shoulders or do not take dating seriously. One fling after another, jumping on the FWB bandwagon.

I have not entered the dating pool yet, but I am constantly hit on by young gorgeous men in their 20s, who are shocked when they find out I am older. This fact does not seem to bother them. I have yet to acknowledge and dive into a May-December romance because I thought it would be silly and odd.

I am now at a point I am finding myself curious if a young man who has yet to become bitter, strange, or angry in his later years would be a breath of fresh air.

When I was single I dated younger and they were fun, refreshing and good to look at. I say go for it. However these days they too are of the FWB culture.

Only one way to find out really. Try it. :)

It took my girlfriend a little while to come around to dating me since I'm younger but it ended up being the best decision she's ever made. By far. ;)

Hahah I'd be so surprised if this doesn't start a flame war. Give them a shot. It's so common these days. My father was much younger than my mother. Love is love no matter age.

There are plenty of bitter dudes in their twenties with a chip on their shoulder; many seem to have Loveshack accounts.

I suppose it depends what your end game is. If it's just looking for some good times, you probably won't have trouble finding guys in this age range willing to hook up and date casually. I do think you'll have more trouble finding someone of that age looking for something long-term that involves stuff such as marriage and kids. Again, it depends what your end game.

I'm no longer in my twenties, but was so not very long ago, so I can speak from experience: The average guy in his twenties would view a woman in her late 30s or early 40s as a conquest, but usually not someone who he envisions a real future with.

I am sure, but the young hotties I have come across did not seem to be bitter at all.

No I am intelligent and have all my wits. It would be for fun and a breath of fresh air.

This pretty much sums it up. I dated a few older ladies when I was in my 20's, and that's pretty much how it was. Date casually, hang out, hook up, whatever, but nothing real.

Since men our age also seem to want women in their 20s for something real, there is no downside to dating younger.

Younger ones seem to be better in bed too!

I never did FWB in my 20s, took dating seriously, because I ultimately wanted somebody to build a future with. But why would a young man who is not bitter, angry nor strange look for a relationship with a significantly older woman? Practical issues aside, it's really not that easy to closely relate to somebody at a very different stage in life.

Precisely....

And a 20 something guy today is not what a 20 something guy was just some time ago...I had my own business and a mortgage before 25, now most guys that age are either living at home or with a couple of other guys in a dumpy apartment still trying to figure out what they want to do in life..Add to that the reality that most of those guys see older women as easy sex targets or have milf fetishes, not necessarily LTR material, I dunno....Does that seem appealing to the average grown woman.??

Reading your other threads, I wonder if you are not subconsciously seeking another type of guy who is avoidant. You've been involved with a MM on and off for 6 years. Now you are eyeing up guys who are not good bets for long-term relationships.

Plenty on the FWB bandwagon also. Plenty who will see an older woman as nothing more than a quick fling.

I'm not sure generalizing men by age groups is helpful.

It's probably better to find an individual that you're compatible with regardless of age.

Works both ways and it's one of the biggest problems l've had with any women l meet now, so messed up.

l really miss them when they were young and fun and happy go lucky.

But, l know this will get heaps of knockers but if women really knew how guys ticked , they wouldn't even consider trying to hold a younger guy in anything serious long term.

It's hard enough for any guy to keep on the straight and narrow with all the girls running around out there but if she's older than him well, near impossible.
