Struggling to find another.

Recommended Posts

Okay so I've not had a girlfriend since this time last year.

I'm in my first year at University and people build it up to be a place that you'll meet someone who you could spend many years with, and yeah I understand that its early days here for me (been here since early September) but I'm just a bit lonely.

Friends I know here are getting with girls all the time, but I find whenever I go out or try and meet a girl either in a bar or club, nothing seems to work. I'm not really interested in just a 'one night thing', yeah it would be great to be back in the game but I'm just not one of those guys whose in it just for the sex.

I've pulled a couple of girls since being here but nothing really established from that, probably because we were really drunk when it happened.

It took a while for me to get over my ex but I'm practically over her now, however I just feel like a missing something big in my life as I was used to spending almost everyday with my ex.

I just dunno what to do really, I know its only been a couple months here but I just feel like I'm not getting anywhere compared to other dudes that I know.

I guess I just feel lonely, any advice you could give me?

I don’t think jumping into a relationship just to do away with your loneliness is a wise idea. I would suggest that you consider signing up for some of the co-curricular clubs and activities on campus and make new friends. Like you mentioned, you’ve just been at this university for a couple of months, give yourself time. Take care!
