Editing pictures for dating profiles...

Recommended Posts

I have a few questions relating to online dating, specifically, pictures.

Firstly, is it acceptable to use edited pictures of yourself? Not to shave off pounds or other deceptive activity, but to make the usual "selfie" look more dynamic. [Previously had a photo link up, but deleted in hindsight for privacy reasons].

Lastly... I have a somewhat masculine face and hair cut (black straight shoulder length hair with both sides shaved). However, I know that from certain camera angles, I look more feminine. Would it be dishonest for me to use the more feminine angles?

Thank you.

What is your goal in OLD? Are you actually trying to meet someone? If so no.

Guys don’t care, doing a whole bunch of weird stuff, even when women try to be funny or extra sexy is frankly a turnoff and a red flag. Dudes just want to see you, the whole you…

Old thread but suggest you browse… lots of good hard nose commentary on OLD don’ts….

I don't think anything is wrong with it as long as you still look like your pictures in real life when someone meets you.

Yes, that link that Larryville gave you is the link to my thread! Page 9 is the bullet point list summary if you really want to get to the point.

Personally I can't stand overedited photos, especially those studio shots, neither do I like those that are grainy and yellow, probably taken using a potato or other vegetable. Get into the daylight on an overcast day and the lighting will be flattering without you needing to do anything.

Don't Photoshop yourself thin, don't create stupid montage shots, and don't remove your monobrow. There is NO need to colour images like Instagram does. Don't waste images by putting a quote in there instead; that's just rubbish.

We just want to see what you look like!
