Girl at work problem !

Recommended Posts

I like this girl at work, we get along and we talk all the time and she not seeing anyone. But recently I asked her out to lunch / dinner and this is where it really confuses me. She replied with "no problem", then I asked her if she already had any other plans, that's when she mentioned she had plans to go lunch with her friends. I'm not sure if she was inviting me to go along with them but that wasn't my intention to do so, as I only asked because I wanted to get to know her better. Though I didn't go with them, as i didn't know her friends, maybe that was the wrong call I don't know. A few days after asking her that she now tries to avoid me and not make any eye contact, even talking to me.

At this point I'm not sure what to do or say as it can be whatever issues she has with me on asking her or not going along with her friends.

I need opinions on this, on what I can do to fix this without creeping her out or pushing her away more. Totally stumped.

Because she is some one from work, leave her be. Her avoiding you & not making eye contact is her way of saying no thank you. Any attempt by you to continue to talk to her about non work related matters could be interpreted by her as harassment & if she runs crying to management, you would get in trouble. So just stay away. She knows where to find you. Unless she does ignore her.

Fixing it isn't in the cards, not creeping her out is totally doable, and pushing her away more is inevitable. You do all three the same way - by backing off and not chasing her around at all or trying to force eye contact or anything else like that. She's giving you clear indications she's not interested, so you have to respect that and let it go. Luckily that's also the best way top not be creepy and to hang onto your dignity. You took your shot, no big deal. :)

Move on. Quit bothering her. If she was interested in you, she'd show it with lingering eye contact & a bright smile.
