"Cute" the other four lettered word

Recommended Posts

I have for a long time hated being labeled this. I believe that it is like the kiss of death. It is reserved for lucky (puppies,kittens, and babies) and the damned like me. Are there any men out there that would be interested in someone that is "cute/average"? I'm starting to fear the answer to that question is no.

I can think of worse four letter words to be called nothing wrong with cute IMO "cute" is the one who ends up in the lasting relationships Ill be it may take longer to find on the other hand.

"Hot" are the ones who end up as mostly ONS I could be wrong but I wonder how many grown men refer to their new gfs as "Hot" to their moms? You know darn well it goes something like this "I found a great new girl mom shes so cute"..

Moral of the story Nala don't stress it be pashent trust me..

Well... How do you define 'cute'?

I called my ex cute all the time. I adored her for being cute. I am VERY interested in cute. It's what I like most in a person; it's character.

So, for me the whole 'cute' thing (loveable, endearing, sweet, funny) is the best compliment you can get.

Yea, my boyfriend calls me cute all the time. More than he calls me hot or sexy. It's not a bad label. It's something a guy says when he feels deep affection for you. Girls are the ones who use the word "cute" to mean friend, but not necessarily a lover. Guys don't use that word loosely like girls do and they save it for the women that they can possibly feel serious about.

There's nothing wrong with 'cute'. I have some reasoning behind this, but I hope it's not too shocking.

I have mostly guy friends, and as guys they (let's be honest) watch a lot of porn. I've talked to them all about porn and I've seen their folders. Titles with the phrase "cute girl" in them get just as many downloads as any with the phrase "hot girl". My point is, when it comes to what guys find sexually attractive, girls labeled 'cute' by themselves or others are just as physically desirable to them as girls labeled 'hot'.

Also, I've found when a guy I know talks about some 'hot' girl they'd like to date, they seem a lot more scared and intimidated, and more apt to put on a show to try and impress her.

When they talk about cute girls they want to date? They're still nervous but they're much more excited, they talk more about things she says and how sexy those things are, they're more themselves and they're more romantically inclined.

This is just what I've personally observed. So I wouldn't worry or feel about being labeled 'cute', I personally think it's the better compliment.

Oh contrare, being thought of as cute usually means attractive and lovable. It also implies a non-threatening appearance--a woman that dresses nicely and doesn't look like a billboard of internal conflict signified by tatoos and piercings would be thought of as cute, as in yummy, she looks well adjusted and pretty. I can't see applying that to someone with danger underscoring her natural beauty. Such a woman may be looked at as "hot". But I don't dig burns at all. Cute is GOOD.

what makes you think that the term cute is a bad thing. I once called a girl that that I went out with, she took it sorta bad, but in reality I was insanely attracted to her. just depends on how it's said I guess. if it sounds like a genuine compliment, take it as such. men and women both overanalyze things they shouldn't, its just human nature.

I understand what you mean, I used to really hate it when now and again a guy would call me cute. I think that it's because when women tend to use the word they aim it, as you mentioned, at puppies, kittens, babies etc and at men that we think are friends/average but not someone that you would want as a partner. I've learnt that men tend to use the term in a completely different way, for many of the reasons mentioned above. Cute is a good thing!

It is a scale for women...

Cute===================middle ground======================Hot

Men see cute women as 'sisterly' and hot women as 'one night stands'.

You have to reach the middle ground.

For better comparison and and so women can understand my meaning more fully, let me show you the analagous chart for men:

nice guy===================middle ground======================Jerk

Women are phyiscally attacted to the jerk, and emotionally attracted to the nice guy. This is why the nice guy never gets dates. The man has to reach the middle ground for dating success.

For the same reasons, this is why the woman should need to reach the "middle ground" for dating success.

I'm a heck of a lot more prone to want a girl that is "cute" before I would consider a girl who who is "hot". Hot girls are generally stuck up and very aware that people find them attractive. Those types always seem to spring for the biggest jerk in the room anyhow. Plus there is a general level of "skank" that comes alongside the average "hot girl".

When you consider guys using the term cute the way women do, consider how many times you see a straight male older than ten years old talk seriously about how cute a baby is, or how cute a kitten is. It's certainly not in the same context for the guys.

( No, I am not implying all men who call a baby cute are either a homosexual or a child. Just saying that it's not very common. At least around where I live. )

I'm with you OP...I've never liked being called cute. I think it's just my own weird mental hangup but I just remember my mom calling me cute back when I was 10 and had pigtails and missing baby teeth. It's just the connotation I have to 'cute' that makes me dislike it now that I am 25. :o

Cute seems more a more appropriate thing to say than you look pretty or you're hot.

Assuming a girl wants a guy to say something about her looks when they are meeting on a date, what would she prefer the guy say?

How exactly does one reach this middle ground when it's a matter of appearance rather than behavior? :rolleyes:

cute is a 6-6.5/10.

if some guy described you as cute from a purely physical perspective then your doing ok but not enough to trigger that jaw dropping response.
