I think I messed up

Recommended Posts

There is this girl at work that seems to be hitting on me. She basically does those little things and sometimes obvious things to direct my attention to her and I want to ask her out. Well yesterday she was all touchy and flirty with me when we were sitting in the break room because our shift started. At the end of our shift I was going to wait for her but I was feeling sick and I just wanted to get out of there. She was trying to catch up me and when I saw her I didn't say anything, yeah I know it was rude of me, but I didn't feel like talking and just wanted to leave. I feel like I might have screwed it up and she might think I'm not interested. I don't know what to say to her now that I did this. Do you think what I did probably turned her off?

Don't sweat it. Talk to her tomorrow, explain what happened, and don't be so quick as not to at least say a hi next time.

If you didn't work with her and you wouldn't have a likely chance of running into her again, that would be a different story. But the fact that you see her almost every day, don't worry about it, speak to her and explain and the next time you're in a rush,a quick hello would suffice.

On another note, i know many people fall in love and marry those they work with, but for me, my policy is never to get involved with somebody i work with. If you work in a corporation with like 20,000 people and you see that other person once a year, then maybe, but usually, bad things happen to love at work. Cause honestly, most relationships don't last, and sometimes jobs do.

Anyway, also depends on how old you are, if it's a mall job or something where you're part time and in high school or college, then usually problems with love at work aren't as big an issue. Cause most college or high school kids don't stay at jobs that often anyway to get into those sticky work and love related situations.

I work with this beautiful woman and recently last week she began heavily flirting and hitting on me. On Thursday of last week she was almost all over me and coming to my work area to talk constantly. Towards the end of our shift I started feeling sick so I left in a hurry. Then on Friday she didn't say a single word to me so I just said Hi to her. On Saturday she was about the same, so I went up to her and and talked. But there is this other guy who likes her and when I walked past her when I went on break she was like "Hi, Jimmy" in a seductive voice. After that the guy basically stayed by her the whole shift.

Yesterday she seemed like she was mad at me for no reason. I mean we chatted but she wasn't her usual self. The guy keeps hanging around her even more than he did before after what happened on Saturday and when we were in the break room he gave me this stupid look like "She's mine". She told me their just friends earlier in the week and he would just talk to her every once in a while but after what happened on Saturday he's constantly trying to be around her.

I was going to ask her out because I'm leaving the company in about a month, but she seems mad at me and this guy keeps hanging around her and I don't know what they are doing. I know it's a pretty stupid situation but I figured hey I'm leaving the company and why not ask her out. Is she mad because I didn't ask her out on that Thursday when I left in a hurry or is it just something I'm not seeing?

Of course it's a pretty stupid situation and you just don't seem to get it. That's what happens when ego gets in the way.

This lady USED you by flirting with you to get the other guy interested. Now that she's been successful, she no longer has any need for you. She no longer wants to flirt with you or be all that nice to encourage you because you have fulfilled the need she had for you.

She's not mad at you at all. As a matter of fact, she is truly grateful to you for helping her, albeit unknowingly, in her conspiracy. Once she's married to this other guy, maybe she'll bake you a cake or something. I promise you, she is NOT mad, she just doesn't want to chase this other guy away by paying attention to you.

Man, I learned this stuff in first grade. Don't even give her a second look anymore. Don't say hello and ignore the hell out of her. She's a loser from the get-go.

You are the lucky one in all this because you don't need someone as coniving and manipulating as she is.

But you do need to brush up on your female psychology. Don't let women use you like this again!!!

Tony-Why not ask her out to lunch. Be honest and just ask her what's up? You'll know if she's being honest with you or not if you pay attention. Knowing is better than not knowing, in any situation, don't you think?

I think if somebody is being rude to me they can kiss my butt. I'm sure not going to reward that kind of conduct by taking them to lunch...unless they're serving poison mushrooms...especially if I've been nice to them.
