I usually smile at anyone that makes eye contact with me, male ,female, young, old. Unless I'm in a REALLY bad mood, and then I just try and avoid eye contact.

being kind and friendly to people really is it's own reward, it's amazing how a few nice words or gestures can turn somone's day around !

I have to agree. Being nice to complete strangers... is good for the soul..:)

Its also kinda funny to see some peoples faces .. when you do an unsolicited act of kindness... like hold open a door.

Ditto! Even when in a bad mood, someone's smile and/or words can give me at least a temporary attitude adjustment. Smiles are contagious!

Brad Pitt would probably evoke more than a smile.

I'd ask him where he was at during our last fish fry, and what makes him think he can't hang around us anymore???!!

If Brad Pitt Walked By You Would You Smile At Him If He Was Looking At You? My Point Is Do You Smile At Every Good Looking Guy That Is Looking At You?

If it were Brad Pitt, are you kidding, I would beam at him. :p

In reality, I smile at both men and women when there's eye contact and they don't look angry or hostile. I find that most men are always smiling first anyways and so are many women. Just for fun, when I've noticed extreme hostility from some women, I've deliberately given them a friendly smile and many of them have smiled back in return.

I saw the same hockey star twice within the same week. The first time, I wanted to allow him his privacy and just gave him a little smile when he made eye contact. The second time, he initiated a big smile in recognition. It was kinda' cool. I think he appreciated that I wasn't in his face the first time.

Same with me. Not only that, but here on the north-east coast it's been a commonly accepted mentality to smile and say "Hi, how are you?" to anyone you want in the street and get away with it.

we call that Southern Hospitality down here, and I'm surprised it actually works where you are – I've been told by several different people that northerners are clannish ... that you just don't really do anything more than make eye contact with 'em. Don't know how true that is, though ...

I completely agree.

I try to be pleasant with whomever I come into contact with -- gestures like holding doors open and extra special kindness for those that deal with mass amounts of the public everyday -- like bank tellers and quickie mart or drive thru employees.

If it was Brad Pitt then I would definitely give a good smile back even though I am not really into Brad Pitt. If it was Johnny Depp...I would be drooling.

If I see a guy smile at me I will naturally give a quick smile back with little eye contact but where I live ya have to be careful how you smile at some guys because they may take it the wrong way. Which is fine as long as they don't start following me or something weird.

In general I try to smile and be courtious to everyone.

LOL...I'm not sure where RecordProducer lives but I live in the Mass area, and yeah, people tend to be not-so-friendly. :D I'm a very friendly person by nature, and so are a lot of people that live in the Northeast, but for the most part....people can be very "snobby" here. Even when I lived in Virginia for awhile, I noticed how different people were there....very nice.

Anyways, back to the topic---no, I don't smile at every good-looking guy who looks at me. At least not when I have a bf. But Brad Pitt? yeah, I'd probably smile. ;)

I am in Philly, but I've noticed the same mentality in Boston and Chicago. I really can't talk about the south of the US, cuz I really compare the US to Europe. I was telling everyone how the French were nice until I met the Americans: Americans are definitely the kindest people in the world.

But in Florida they are not as nice as in PA. Just my experience... :o

You respect others TBF and their right to privacy.....It must be extremely difficult for those in the entertainment field, or any position that creates any type of public notoriety.

Having heard it said that, "they should expect it", meaning stalkers, no privacy as their lives are exposed to the tabloids daily, other types of media, ect....

Entertainment, politics, sports, and all other "in the public" positions are jobs just like we have, we have all contributed to society in a positive or a negative manor, and some are "stars" in their own right....all have the right to personal privicy.

Knowing this is hard to believe, if I were to walk by Brad Pitt, most likely would not recognize him as such, would see him as a man walking....I give space case a whole new meaning....lol....am usually in my own little world caught up in deep thought.

Having lived near Hollywood (was born there also) all of my life, it's not an uncommon thing to see famous people....in visiting the various studios saw many....they seemed preoccupied (because they were "working").

I would smile ... and then hand him a bar of soap. His skin always has that 'dirty look' or maybe it's his hair...sorry he just doesn't do it for me.

I might ask him where I can hook up with Matt Damon though ;)

One can't help but smile! Human beings are attracted to beauty. It's been proven by babies. Their attention is drawn to pretty faces. Deep down, we all are at least a little bit superficial.

Sorry, but you have just lost all credibility. French kiss my arsehole. Sorry, it's getting late, and I may be missing a word or two in my sentences.
