(To include gossip, things your friends tell you, things that happen when your SO isn't around, etc.) If you do tell, is it understood that your SO is your confidante, and s/he is to keep the information to him/herself?

I have learned that I need to tell my BF everything that would affect or potentially affect our relationship. But I do not tell him every gossip I have heard or goings on at my work. Yes, I expect him to keep things I have shared with him to himself.
