reit539 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I've had classes with this girl for the past few years, and always thought she was great, but never got to know her. Last year, now that I think about it, she obviously was trying to at least start conversation with me, but I was just being typical me, quiet and a little awkward, so nothing happened. Either way, when I realized we had an office aide class together I decided I would at least talk her up a bit. Which for the first few times worked amazingly. We talked a little and she was flirting like crazy. She was laughing alot, smiling when I walked in, teasing me and brushing up against me to get my attention. I figured she was interested, so I started talking to her, and that went well, she was talking alot, and it was going good. She did a bit of flirting after school walking to our cars, and the next morning walking into school. So I figured she was interested. I planned on just talking to her some more this second week of school and getting her number today, Friday, and texting her over the weekend. That was my plan until Wednesday and Friday (I have a class with her every other day, and I say hey in the hallway whenever I see her/pass her) threw me for a loop. I walk into the room and she really doesn't even look at me when I walk in, hasn't smiled at me since Tuesday, and turns away to face the other girl in the office with us to talk to her. Now she will do a few things that show her "interest" including when we are walking down a hallway passing each other she will look at me and tense up a little and either say something a bit random or get a look on her face like she wants to smile, but she doesn't. If she doesn't smile or say anything, I will smile and say "hey", and she'll blurt out hey really quickly. She also decided to catch up to me and walk with me all over school handing out papers to teachers where we talked a little, but it got a little awkward because I'm generally a bit of an awkward guy (just in general, not just with girls), but we stayed together even though the classes we were going to were in different places, her actually waiting on me down the hall while I had to deliver some papers. In addition to that she'll look at me every now and then and look away, especially if I pick something up like my books or something. All that is great, but it seems like whenever we are sitting down in the office she ignores me, but when we are in the halls or something, she will show her interest a bit. Either way, what should I make of these signals, and how should I handle them? Just keep starting up conversation and saying hey in the hallway and plan on getting her number sometime soon?
