BookerT Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 So I got a puppy recently, and put pics of it and a video up on facebook. Over the next few days I had 4 girls ask me out for drinks and dinner, etc.... Now female friends told me it's because I'm a big guy and images of a big guy with a puppy is cute, and also it makes me look like a fatherly figure. But come on.......... Isn't the cute puppy trick like the oldest trick in the book?
runner Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 the puppy was probably just an excuse to contact you. whatever works eh ?

It wouldn't, alone, be enough for me to dig a guy, but I get why it helps. (It helps less every time girls hear fellows call it a trick. That said, I know enough men that are absolute crap with the way they treat a gal, but are wonderfully loving pet-owners. Not like it's a silver bullet.) Mostly, though, it gives a girl an entrance to talk about something, assuming they mentioned it. I've never dated a fellow because he had a dog, but I have used his dog as an excuse to express my interest and see if he'd try to pick me up. (I do actually like dogs, too.) The world is complicated, is all I'm saying. Fellows used my kittens to hit on me on FB when I posted videos of them. I don't think this means cat ladies have suddenly become sexy. Maybe the gals actually like you!

Maybe the gals actually like you! This is pretty much how it works. You still have to pick them up, which is so much easier when they approach you.
jamesum Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 So the girls asked him out for dinner and drinks because he looked hungry and thirsty? You think when you see a young woman hitting on a rich old man, it means sex is what she is after? Im just saying sex is the last thing that drives a woman toward a guy. There are always other factors. Unless of course you look like a Calvin Klein model.
RecordProducer Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 You think when you see a young woman hitting on a rich old man, it means sex is what she is after? Im just saying sex is the last thing that drives a woman toward a guy. There are always other factors. Unless of course you look like a Calvin Klein model. Please enlighten me: what other things? Other than chemistry, that is, that would draw a girl to a picture of a guy with a dog? I want to think benevolence is what the girl is after, but you didn't argue that in your statement that girls are not after sex when hitting on an old, rich man. What exactly is your point?
Enchanted Girl Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 This does impress women because it makes you seem sensitive and caring. You're taking care of and loving another creature so much that you posted pictures of it. Although if you're not really sensitive or caring, it's not going to get you far. Still, my boyfriend has a crippled dog that he has to change the diaper of every day. It's a little toy poodle and it wasn't what initially attracted me to him or anything (I didn't know about it until after we were together.) But I tell other women about it and how much he loves it and they all go,"Awwww."
Author BookerT Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 Men often incorrectly assume that women are as horny and always after sex in the same way they are. There are many things that drive attraction. For men sex is definitely a bigger factor, and sure there are girls that sleep around freely, but generally women are not looking for sex with guys the same way men are.
Thierro Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I hate dogs though. So I need a different partner in crime. Maybe a hamster on a leash should do the trick. They are not very fast though and people would crush the little creature in no time with their big feet. Maybe I should just use my smile.
