jennifer4 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 With so many posters proclaiming they are destined for loneliness due to criteria beyond their control, I thought it'd be interesting to start a thread to figure out who would date whom based on said criteria. I am convinced most of the bitter single people on this board are single cause they're bitter.... not cause they're fat/ bald/ poor/ come with baggage. So, would you date me?? Gender: F Age: 38 Height: 5'6 Weight: 136 Bald: No Occupation: customer service rep # Divorces: 2 # Kids: 4 Biggest Insecurity: holding out for mr. right LOL settling is a thing of the past.
Leia Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 PhD in Robotics is interesting/sexy, I would date you. Thanks. Interesting but oh so exhausting! Gender: M Age: 23 Height: 6'0 Weight: 190 Bald: No, thinning though up front, give it 3-5 more years Occupation: Embedded Systems Engineer/ Student Divorces: 0 Kids: 0 Biggest Insecurity: I play an rpg, I hide it from non-nerds. I basically have two sides, a nerdy side and that tosses d20 on the weekends with friends, and that "cool" side that goes out, parties, does sports, goes to gym and is social. I need to embrace both! I enjoy playing rpg games .. that is whenever I have the time!

confused192 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I would date you, TheBigQuestion, if you were older
brainygirl Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Women have reacted very strongly for calling them at the wrong time. It would be much worse if I kissed them at the wrong time, even on a date. When did you call? Late at night, early in the morning?
brainygirl Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 It was around 8 at night. Another was very unhappy that I called her mid day. The second was probably working when you called, that would bug me too. maybe 8 was too late?
brainygirl Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Then why answer the phone? I had thought that she might not be working then based on what she had told me before which is why I called. She was working. The woman that I called at 8 was out somewhere. It seems like no matter when I call, I end up not getting her or bugging her. I can't stand the phone and all the phone games people play. I wish I could text or email. then test or email. If its a bad time, say I'll call around five, then call around five, or what ever. I think you take things too personally and are probably interpreting upset where unavailable was be communicated.
carhill Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 'I'm tied up with a client right now. Can I call you back later/call me at xxx?' 'Why are you bothering me at work?' OP, what did you hear?
D-Lish Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Sounds d-lish to me... I'd date you. Really? At the age of 40? I'm a young 40, but still 40:( That's my hang up- my age.
carhill Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Both time I called them and we said hello and a few friendly words back and forth. They then suddenly act unhappy I called and it was a bad time. I don't know what to say and it ends badly. The whole call is a minute or two. If you have a thread running on this, direct me, as this is off-topic in this thread. If not, start one. If the 'tone' of the calls changed from friendly to dismissive during the same call, that's definitely worth exploring. If different calls, more situational. People handle such things differently... I'm a young 40, but still 40:(IMO, you've only begun to bloom

I would date you, TheBigQuestion, if you were older And look she has a new avatar up and is now an established member who can be pm'ed. I thought she didn't find younger men attractive... what will happen next...
