21 yr old asked me out. I'm a little hesitant. She's a cute girl and all, but it seems kinda weird.

Opinions?

For me personally, it might be a little weird...but it's just a simple date, right? Just forget about her age for an evening and go out with her...

Not very weird. I say go for it.

Go on the date. If, by the end of the date, you've all but completely forgotten about the age gap, then that's how you know it's not too much. :]

Nothing wrong with it go for it

i'd give it a shot. i've known quite a few couples with that kind of age difference; heck, my own parents are about 7yrs apart. if you guys are roughly on the same page emotionally, maturity-wise, then the age difference becomes immaterial.

In the thread below you, there is a 18 year-old lusting after a 14 year-old. If you just keep your thread bumped next to his, it won't seem as weird.

True dat. Sometimes the age gap is monumental and sometimes it's nothing. You'll know pretty quickly if the age is an issue; you'll find that you're feeling more like her old man than her date, but the only way you're gonna know for certain is by going. Besides, she's the one who asked you, so she obviously sees some kinda connection. At the absolute worst, even if it doesn't work out, you can go and enjoy the envious stares of all the other guys!

10 years my as* lol, u ppl complain about a 18yr old and a 14 yr old.... im so confused the law sucks....

There's no harm going on this date and see what happens. Age isn't the most important thing.

Like Eminem says in one of his songd wirh Dr Dre "if she's got bush, it's ok" :). Go for it, what d heck, if she asked YOU out, chances are good you'll atleast get a piece of as.s.

My ex was 12 years older than me, the age difference was never an issue for us. Just go on a date and take it from there.

I don't think there is anything wrong with trying out a date. The worst thing that can happen is that you find out you have nothing in common.

Also depends if she's a mature 21 year old. If she says "like" every second word, that could get tiresome after 5 minutes (in which case you stare at her breasts until it's time to go home).

It's only a problem if you let it be one. Age gaps are perfectly normal. In fact historically 15 years is the optimal age gap for men to be older than women for the best benefit of having kids and providing for them. That may not be the case in modern society now that women can provide for themselves and their kids, but the point is that fairly large age gaps are nothing to be worried about and are perfectly natural.

I'm almost 40 he's 31, really successful, mature 31 but still just 31. Am I a dirty old lady?

You're an adult, so is she.

It's just a date.

Go and have fun.

No, he's lucky IMO. Nothing sexier than a mature, confident lady who knows what she wants.

Moments ago I just answered a post from an 18yo guy crushing on a 14yo girl and he was asking whether it would be OK to date her (or start a relationship).

I took a fairly strong stance against his doing so.

So it gives me great satisfaction to come to your post here and give you a thumbs-up on your deal, especially if she is the one who asked you out.

At twenty-one she is clearly an adult, and as such she is free to make her own adult decisions. You on the other hand do not have to see yourself as the proverbial 5th grader who gravitated toward the 3rd graders at recess (as mentioned in my answer at another post you can look up).

IF SHE was first to approach you romantically then there is every reason why you should assess her as an individual and not simply an age.

Go with your instincts about the individual regardless of her age.

Don't women reach their sexual peaks in their forties? Now that's truly something to ponder about.
