Does anyone work opposite schedules as their SO? (or have in the past) Share your thoughts and experiences please!

Oh, and I am one of these people. It's not fun...

I did for 3 years (he was a chef, worked nights and weekends and I was a teacher, and did NOT work nights and weekends). In the long run it didn't work out. Time apart was nice sometimes for sure, but at the end of the day, we could only have date night on Sundays and Mondays, and well...it just wore us out. He had his own social circle of people that went out after midnight when they got off work and I had my friends that went out for happy hour when we got off work...We definitely disconnected over time.

Yeah, that's what is the same as us. I don't work far away so he does come and visit me and we will go to dinner, but it's still hard. Our bedtimes are different which is hard. I wake him up at night to go to bed, he wakes me up in the morning when he gets up to go to work!

We are getting married in 7 weeks and live together so basically something is going to have to be worked out.
