alexlakeman Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Ex g/f, we dated for 3 years.. last year, hasn't been dating, but every other time..well not every other time, but atleast once a month we have sex... she gets jealous when I get phone calls or text messages , etc.. BUT god forbid she spends a weekend with me, or a Friday or Sat night... Yet, when we're together and my cell rings or I get a text message she gets jealous, lol.. wtf? I ask her "ARE YOU my gf?" and she says no, no... Am I wrong to think I am HER fwb? I mean we get along, we trust each other, but it's like most women I date, "want" to spend a weekend with me, etc... not this one.. Way different than an "official" fwb I have.. this one KNOWS I do not want a relationship with her.. and a few weeks ago over lunch, she said , "that's fine, we'll just be freind's with benifits".. we go drinking, party, sex is great, but she knows we don't click in our day to day lives... Why do women look at being FWB so differently??? WFT?? women, thoughts?

Maybe you feed her ego and make her feel desirable, and the sex is good and that's all she needs from you. The jealousy bit is that other women will naturally throw this ego-feed off track, and generally it's not polite to converse with other women while there's one currently sharing your bed, know what I mean? The question is, can you handle just being her FWB? If not you may have to end the physical relationship with her and make it very clear you are out there looking to date others.

Testosterone is produced in the balls, it goes into blood of a male and the blood goes through male's brains that makes him think that he wants to have sex with females. As for girls, they have the ovaries which produce a counter hormone called estrogen. It goes with blood to female's brain and makes them want on a deeper level to find a husband and make babies. Sex is just the way to find a husband.

You sound like the one who said you didn't want a relationship so she agreed to just be FWB and you're snarky "What are you, my girlfriend?" lets her know this isn't happening. I think you need to cut bait before the hardcore drama starts.

But, she doesn't want you seeing other women seriously because that will give you the upper hand and force her to either be in a relationship with you (which she does not want) or lose you. Other women simply mean you have the power to leave her and chose someone else. She wants you as a FWB, but doesn't want to lose you until she is ready to move on because she doesn't want to feel rejected. It can be crazymaking and you might want to drop this one if you have better options.
