I just CAN'T stop stalking this guy on Facebook and I need to know how to block myself from seeing his page. His site isn't private so weither or not I defriend him doesn't really matter as I can still get on! I've tried really hard to not stalk him and I did really well for a few weeks. However after my few weeks of NC he started writting on my wall and commenting on things on my page which lead me right back into stalking him again (but still sticking to NC). I MUST cut this guy from my life as I have an unhealthy obsession with him which really hurts me when I read all these things on his site. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help me find a way to block his page. I HAVE to stop seeing everything.
Mike B. Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 For what you got there is only one cure. Approach the guy, tell him that you are interested in him and would like to meet up with him. He will either tell you that he is not interested which should end your dreams or that he is interested and then you can stalk him more officially.

I have been dropping hints left right and centre but he hasn't taken up on any of them. I figure I would be setting myself up for a major rejection if I were to tell him how keen I am. When I invited him over and he said no as he had plans I vowed to move on stop stalking him and I did so well! But then he started stalking me and now I've fallen back into the trap of checking his page every second. I see there possibly may be something going on with this other girl and its hurting me so bad so I MUST block his page. I don't want to deactivate my own account. I can defriend him but his profile is still public so I can still get on easily. Please tell me if there is a way just to block his profile. I MUST move on as im only setting myself up for failure and hurt.

This is the next best thing to consentual stalking. Right? I don't understand why people drop hints. What is the purpose of dropping a hint? You want the person to do something, right? Then just tell him what you want to go down. There is just too much ambiguity in hints. Tell it like it is!

If all of those things, I don't understand why you can't just out right ask him for a date. I'd chance it even if he turns me down. Better an endresult rather than a what if.

Basically I have turned him into a bit of a fantasy in my head based of what I want him to be and facebook posts which is sooo unhealthy. Besides my fear of rejection I also wonder what if he really isn't this guy that I've built him up to be. And finally if he were intereted wouldn't he make a move?
TuesGirl Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 So waaaay back in the day...well before cell phones and facebook, I was going through a breakup with my high school sweetheart (first love) and I 'knew' I shouldn't drunk dial (I was in college at the time) to get over him or contact in any way, even though it was super hard, so I devised an award system for myself. For every week (or every day!) that I did not contact him, I gave myself 'something', whether it was simply drawing another star on a peice of paper that I kept or treating myself to a new CD, it was an award. After awhile, the award value diminished as I became stronger throughout the breakup but it's an idea...

Congrats to you on having such great will power! I have been on his site at least 10x today! Basically I don't understand whats going on with this guy but I NEED to stop stalking him. I clearly don't have my own will power so Is there a way I can do it on the computer? Thanks
remorseful1980 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I deactivated my account for more than a week and I don't miss it. I think you need to go to account (on the upper right hand side), then click Privacy, then on the bottom of the browser you will see an option on blocking a person. It works for any profile, even those who are not on your friends's list. You can type in his name or his email account, and press the block button.
