I thought this was funny. Last night, I was out with some friends of mine to see a show in Seoul. A male friend (admittedly a player) met a girl, flirted with her almost the whole night, and then didn't try to pick her up. (She's actually pretty cool; we're going hiking on Sunday. He's not coming, but a bunch of my mates are.)

He mentioned he wanted to but it wasn't going to work, saying she was like me. I asked about it, and it led to an interesting conversation; he said, "Well, you'd have to get serious with a girl like her. Trying to play her is like trying to play Scrabble with blank tiles. And, like, someone who didn't believe in what a "word" was. It's just frustrating. Someday I'll date a girl like her, but you can't play those girls." (paraphrased) My friend is really a philosophy nerd at heart, but he's definitely a player, and it was an interesting conversation for me. We were drunk, obviously.

But it made me think. I really don't have to worry much about players. They often admit their intentions and go away (Really, I swear; even dudes in relationships will try briefly sometimes when I'm out somewhere, briefly, and then be all, "Sorry, I'm a jerk, really, here's my story" about it. And then stop trying to get in my pants. It's weird.)

So, if you want to avoid and/or mystify players, be like a game of scrabble with no letters. :) But I think that also means not wanting to get in the game and change the player, of course.
