It's been 10 years since I bartended consistently and I was making ~$35K. Homer, I think he was half-joking - well the 'purveyor of alcohol' bit made me laugh anyway. Most of my relatives have been bartenders or run bars at one point or another and have done very well out of it. In any case, the income level of a barman never even crossed my mind, just that this guy was attractive, funny and flirted with me. His profession is only relevant because my friend was like 'oh a barman? You don't stand a chance'. But that friend was American, and he put a bit of doubt in my mind whereas prior to that I was thinking 'this guy likes me'. But hearing that this guy would have 1000's of girls after him kind of made me doubt my initial instincts. ...but then it's been clear since I posted on here, that the bar culture in the States is different from here, so I'm not so sure that he would be so bombarded by the oppostie sex to the same degree as Stateside. Then again...I'm probably just clutching at straws. He is rather yummy though in a non-classical good looking way, so I'll happily ogle him for a while longer before eventually departing that premesis with my tail between my legs.
