The title kinda sums this one up. Im not talking about giving them to any old person. But giving them to a woman you have been dating just because. Do women actually like getting flowers, or do they just pretend to?

Tricky territory. It depends.

When I get flowers in a delivered bouquet I always think 'awe hell'.

Never go for the I f'd up bouquet. Epic fail.

Flowers when things are new and good are generally received well, however you then set a precedent of which you may feel (or be pressured?) into treadmilling to follow. I think this is where the 'I f'd up bouquet' stems from in many cases. (she liked it then sort of thing)

I guess it is subjective. Personally, I'd rather have something planted in the ground or a pot for me. It lasts longer and feels more committed. Give me periennals that come back every year. Yet there are some women who do feel validated by bouquets. The bigger and the more they can impress others', the better. I don't know about that, but I see it.

Good luck soldier.

I am going to internet punch you so hard in the face, you'll be crying out the other end!

Not sure I'd feel it. But if I buy you chocolates, will you not punch me?

It is entirely possible that chocolates could quell my rage.

Then you'll going to have to call tech support. You know how that goes! :p:lmao:

I'd buy flowers for a woman who deserved them. Every woman deserves flowers at her funeral. If there is another time a woman would deserve flowers, I can't think what it would be.

What happened, johan? Did you recently get burned? :p

I would rather buy a bottle of Heineken than flowers for a woman who will probably throw them back in my face.

I love flowers (except red roses and any carnations).. I also love chocolates.. (Godiva).. but my favourite is a big stack of 'brown bills'... ;)

How about flowers? What would that do for your rage?

Not recently. But I have no good memories of giving women flowers. I have memories of thinking, "hm.. so that's what $80 worth of flowers gets me... I should have spent that money on my car."

I wonder how it would be received to get a funeral wreath delivered to you at work?

The ultimate and final break up with the added comfort of a flower arrangement.

Or how about a "Sorry I found someone else...I'm breaking up with you." bouquet? HAHAHAHAHAAAA!! With a balloon sticking out of it saying "It's not you it's me!"

How about a trip to the Skating Rink of Ecstasy?

Hmmm, FTD (is/was) the staple of flower delivery but what does it stand for?

The obvious leap is STD delivery and let's face it that is kind of a let down no matter the bouquet it is delivered in. There is no coffee cup with a ballon inside of it that makes that sort of news joyful in anyway.

A result picked up was Fronto Temporal Dementia.

So, yes flowers can be a tricky decision.

I'm with Johan if they are dead they can't complain. However, they can haunt you.

Florist's Transworld Delivery

Very interesting business model.

All this time I was sure my sporatic flower delivery was because of a frontal and temporal lobe disorder. The I cannot hear you or process what you say bouquet.

Seem to make sense?

I do like the golden wings on the shoes though.

Also, one of my favorite things I have ever gotten from my fiance was a mismatched bouquet of flowers from a local florist in our old city. He hand picked each flower based on what flowers and colors I liked. The bouquet was all over the place and nothing really went together, I was so in love with it

I love that.

I LOVE flowers! It means so much to me when guys are thoughtful enough to bring them (not that that's happened anytime in the recent past -- in fact, I don't even remember the last time.)

Yeah, the only times I remember getting flowers, they were of the 'I screwed up. Please take me back' variety after some guy broke up with me. Thanks but no thanks. Flowers aren't going to make me forget that you dumped me. Maybe you should have sent them when I gave a sh*t.

I think you should change your username to negative Nancy. You aren't being realistic, you are being pessimistic. If you ever snap out of it, leave Woggle world for a bit and come here to real life.

I am a fan of buying flowers, so I hope a certain someone likes getting them:love:

Oh yes we do!! I've gotten a lot of flowers over the years but never "get out of hot water" flowers. They have always been a show of love just because, or birthdays, or a show of interest in the early stages. My current bo, went really overboard though and for the first time in my life I felt very uncomfortable getting this at work. It was a few weeks into our dating days and I came into my office to find a huge bouquet of flowers and a Louis Vuitton bag sitting on my desk. Inside the bag was a gorgeous LV handbag. It was too much for work and as you can imagine it was a parade of people coming by my office to see what all the fuss was about. It was just too much for work. I really appreciated the extremely big gesture but I wish it had been a more private thing. At that point everyone and their son knew there was a man who was really interested in me and I feel it was just too much for work. Whatever his strategy was, let me tell you, from that day on everyone knew I was not single.

I adore getting flowers and don't care where, for what and when!

Totally agree. Red roses are so obvious and clichéd whilst carnations are dull and cheap (petrol station flowers are not good).

I like giving flowers.

Hand-picked ones to show that I am thinking of her...

Exotic ones to show how special she is...

Fragrant ones to shower her with appreciation...

I don't do this right away though. I wait until she's ready to be with just me and I mean it :)

This is real life. All these women saying they love getting flowers would consider a man to be smothering them if they actually did it.

Not true Woggle. My H often brings home flowers for me or has them delivered to my work and I love it. He makes me feel special and I also appreciate what a good man he is.

I don't know any woman who doesn't like getting flowers. It's a nice gesture.
