I am having a hard time figuring out what is the right drink for me when I go out or when I am meeting a date for a drink. I dont have the money to experiment with all the drinks but I kinda wish I had a way to fiqure this out. Anyone know a website where you can take a quiz or another way to figure this out? I have been trying for a while to figure this out. I want to drink but I want to ENJOY my drink...what do you think?

Can you go out with a bunch of friends and decide you're all going to try different things, and then share? Otherwise maybe find a wine you really like -- all you need to know is a few basics, try several different reds and several different whites, and then order the chardonnay or the merlot or whatever.

Do you tend to like light drinks (alcohol & soda, for example), or fruity (vodka & OJ), or sweeter (fruit margaritas)? Even sweeter drinks like a white Russian? Do you generally like the taste of alcohol, or prefer to disguise it a bit?

I know, if you knew that, you wouldn't be asking. I usually order wine, unless something on the drink menu catches my fancy. And I still like a cosmopolitan at times.

I drink virgin ceasar.

Honestly, if this involves a date, I wouldn't be too concerned with having a signature drink or whatever it is you're going for. You should be focusing on your date right?

I think simple is better:

draft beer

wine

something on the rocks

vodka and seltzer or tonic

Draft beer. Not classy enough? Who cares. It's what I enjoy. Drink what you like! You're the one that has to drink it.

agree

When I can't decide, the good old rum and coke is always good.

Part of the fun is figuring out what you like-outing by outing. It's like a journey! You could always ask your date what they recommend. I've done that before & that always gets the date convo going. I don't like dark liquors so I go for something with Vodka like Vodka & club soda.

You could be daring and tell the bartender which liquor you prefer & to surprise you!

Yeah I agree ...it is a journey but you need to at least know one that you are cool with. I need to get my start somewhere.

I myself prefer draft beer. A standard go to drink is a vodka-canberry.

It's probably not a great idea to go out and mix a bunch of different drinks as it might unsettle your tummy!

I personally like vodka+sprite/vodka-lime or vodka+cranberry, but that's just me.

Captain morgan and diet coke, almost always.

OK, then do this, go to the liquor store, pick up a couple of those little "airplane" bottles. Like 2 darks (whiskey & rum) & 2 lights (vodka & gin). Then get soda & juice. For the vodka & gin try sprite, OJ or pineapple juice. Or something you know that most bars/restaurants will carry. For the darks, try Coke or Ginger ale. That's a relatively inexpensive way to test drinks out. Just don't do them all on the same night. Your stomach will thank you.

r u lookin' fer girly drinks or manly drinks???

I recommend tequila and ginger ale.

You probably will have to experiment a little to find what you like. Personally, I usually order a vodka tonic, purple haze, or long island iced tea. Also, if you like the taste of coconut, liquid marijuna's are pretty good.

Or you could just order a Long Island Iced Tea, and try everything at once. :D

Not that I go on dates, but hypothetically, I think I would be afraid to have anything alcoholic on the first one. One drink always leads to 10, and then how do I know if we're gettiing along cause I'm drunk, or cause I like him?

But if I'm out with friends or whatever, I will always inquire about draft specials. If I'm out barhopping then I will start with a strong foundation of vodka, then drink Bud Light all night.

If it were good tequila it wouldn't need ginger ale.

Find a couple of recipes online, go to a liquor store, buy booze and try out different stuff. There are some pretty good websites with drinks out there...

Beer or Gin and tonic are my usual drinks.

If I really don't care what people think that night I'll have 7and7s
