enchanted771 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I am beyond frustrated. I was dating this guy for a few months until about 2 months ago. At first it seemed okay. We got together, hung out, etc. But he never made time for me. He always had an excuse-work, etc. But he had time to go to birthday parties, friends graduation parties, etc. So, i started to back off and date elsewhere. We decided to still be friends. He kept saying how he would like to have lunch, drinks, etc with me. But he never did. Coincidentally, on a night i had plans he would say " he was going to ask if i wanted to get together but i have plans". He doesnt ever call me, and he sends a few texts. So, i started thinking, he probably thinks he can give minimal contact and we can just be fwb when its convenient for him. So, i told him that i am not open to fwb, and that i am not going to be intimate with anyone until i am in a committed relationship with them. Then he asked why i am being this way. Whenever i try to cut him off completely he calls or texts me saying how he didnt want me to be upset. I dont know what to do! i feel that the best thing would be to cut contact completely, but then he always tries to talk me out of it with some lame excuse.
2sunny Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 stick to your boundary...you know what it is. no need to worry about hurting his feelings, he's not too worried about yours. can you block his phone - since what he usually says is totally meaningless nonsense anyway?

Then just do it already! There's plenty of other nice guys out there. Just think about this: you need to be in a committed relationship with a guy to become intimate, can you be in a committed relationship with a guy like him?

I am ignoring any further texts/calls since he isnt going to be straight with me anyways. He is very toxic, which is why it's so hard for me. I want so bad to believe him, but in my heart i know he isnt being honest.

As long as you continue the you want to believe him thing, you will be stuck with a dishonest loser. If you really want to cut contact with him, you will.

I dont care how busy a guy is, if he really likes someone, he will make time for her. His last text said he likes spending time with me, and really cares about me. If that was the case, he would make time for me wouldnt he? i didnt bother responding, its a waste.

Good that you deleted it. Try to delete them before you even read them. He sounds like a slimy salesman to me. He'll say just the right things, but in reality it's only hollow words. Meanwhile, try to find someone else who doesn't have these bad qualities.
