Only interested in Asian women

It wasn't my intention at all to discuss which race has the most attractive females. I know there are attractive women from all races and that my attraction to Asian women is just a personal preference. What I was more interested in was finding out how socially acceptable it would be to admit to this. Actually what I have found is pretty much what I would have suspected. Men and Asian women don't seem to have a problem with it. Non-Asian women and perhaps Asian men (not sure about that one) seem to have a problem with it. Since Asian women are the ones I am interested in, I guess this is not a big deal, although I know I will have to be careful what I say around my non-Asian women friends.

Many have responded to a similar thread and I have directed OP to that one. I, too, do not like it when a man ( of any race) would ask me out because of some fetish. However, I do not think Dave22 has a fetish...I think he simply is attracted to women who have features most found in Asian women.

I like men who are strong, accomplished and attractive to other women. It is not a fetish, it is who I am drawn to.

hahaha... I actually like that one:D I actually took business at college. As for being nerdy or socially inept... I really think that would be up to others to decide. Come to think of it, maybe that IS the reason I seem to have an easier time picking up Asian women;)

There is a huge difference between having a "fetish" and a "preference", the difference being that the preference (in this case) is easily rationally motivated:
- BEST skin anywhere
- petite
- arguably more traditional upbringing/values and more feminine attitudes (depending on time spent in the West, i guess).

As Taramere, mentioned, these are things that are universally attractive and not 'inherently' Asian. But, for whatever reason they seem to be more likely to show up among asian girls, so instead of being ofended, I say they shul djust pat themselves on the back .

My point exactly...to label anybody who is attracted to Asian women as having a fetish is not fair....as there is, as you say, a 'huge difference" between preference and fetish.

My point exactly...to label anybody who is attracted to Asian women as having a fetish is not fair....as there is, as you say, a 'huge difference" between preference and fetish.

Thanks Tami and Sam Spade. Honestly, if I were living in some small town where 95% of the population is white then I probably would start dating white women. However, where I live I don't seem to have a problem finding Asian women, so why not date who I am most attracted too? I don't see this as a fetish.

I disagree with that. Personally I think Slavic girls have more of those features. Aside from being slim on average and having good skin, most of the traits the average Asian women possess aren't universally attractive but a matter of preference. Dark hair isn't universally more attractive than light hair. Less exposed eyelids aren't universally more appealing either. Nor are flat noses or round faces.

Height is another thing. A lot of men like tall women, not short ones. Some men prefer women who are curvier than Asian women.

I don't see how any of this is universal aside from the weight (and possibly) skin.

I remember one guy told me he didn't like Asian women because he found their faces too "mask like." I don't agree with him, but my point is it's mostly about preference....not universal appeal.

I find it annoying when people act like their preferences are universal.

This is my anecdotal experience of conversations with men who state a preference for Asian women, which might explain to you why I personally get a bit dubious about these conversations. They state the preference. Minimal reaction from me. They tell me they've been to Asia several times. Minimal reaction from me, but I get a sense of what's coming next.

Basically, they've wanted to tell me that they've gone on sex tourism jaunts to South East Asia, and they're awaiting a reaction. A kind of "Whatcha think of that then, eh??" posturing. Comparisons between Asian girls and British girls (invariably unflattering to the latter) are made - presumably again, to get some reaction. You can't win in these situations, because if you don't give a reaction they will keep on and on until they get one.

I'm not saying for a moment that this kind of conversation is a regular occurrence (especially as I've learned ways of extricating myself from them early on) but I can remember a few situations like that. Every so often you'll encounter a team of belligerent drunks who are out for trouble and won't go away. I prefer not to give a reaction, but I can recall one extremely unpleasant incident in a bar when a friend I was with did react (negatively) and that gave the guys in question the excuse they were waiting for to explode and rail at the two of us for not being more open-minded. It was pretty horrible, and just not something you really want to find yourself embroiled in when you're out having a drink with a friend.

If you just happen to appreciate the delicate features Asian girls tend to have, and gravitate towards Asian girls who live in your area then that is your right and your preference. You're not coming across in the above quote as someone who wants to be obnoxious and antagonistic about this. However, I have had that other experience ie of guys who raised the issue of "Asian Girls" as an excuse to start arguments and make personal attacks...so for that reason my hackles go up automatically when the subject arises. I tend to associate it with a certain kind of guy I've encountered now and again.

I don't find it creepy unless there's some kind of aggression, self loathing or desire to be belligerent involved - and there doesn't seem to be in your case.

It's the reference to Asian women as a route to getting aggressively insulting towards other women that is for me, is the creepy part. It's a kind of racism that's deemed okay because it's directed towards the opposite gender in one's own race. I just don't enjoy being around those kind of men, and unfortunately they do make frequent appearances on Internet forums. Can't talk for any other women; perhaps I'm the only one who's had that experience....but that, for me, is the issue.

Hey, well in that case I can sympathize with you. I know the type you are talking about. Often they have had bad experiences in the past with women of their own race and decide that it is the fault of all women of their race. Myself, I have never had a problem with white women, so that's not the issue for me.

I think I agree with some people here about Asians having better skin...as I, personally have been complimented about it a lot -lol. I think I agree with some people here about Asians having better skin...as I, personally have been complimented about it a lot -lol. I do not think it is only on how the skin "looks" but I think it is also on how the skin "feels". All the other features that you mentioned I agree with you, I do not think they are "universal".

I think thats very true. Not just with me, but most of my friends. In fact the only guys I know thsat really prefer tall women are short guys lol. Ive always thought its a desire to sire taller children than themselves.

Well i think his whole point is centered around good skin and slimness. I don't think he thinks Asian features are the only universally attractive features, but probably that since Asians are usually slim and have good skin, they are more likely to be universally attractive.

I don't think any one group is more attractive than the other, but I do find that the average Asian woman looks a bit better than the average Caucasian woman. But if you were looking at stunning women who are Caucasian vs Asian, then I wouldn't find one or the other more attractive.

It becomes creepy when it becomes an unhealthy obsession, like when guys download Asian porn all day long or when they go on sex trips to various parts of Asia. Like when I was in Thailand, I would see some dweeby looking 55-year-old, bald, overweight guy with some 18-year-old Thai girl...that was creepy. But when you see just a white/black/latino guy with an Asian girl, I don't see the problem.

The whole stereotype about Asian women is why a lot of international relationships typically don't work out. One thing that non-Asians had better understand about their Asian female spouses is that they're anything but subservient. Men are expected to go out and pull in a paycheck, but it's the woman who decides how that paycheck is spent. If he goes out and buys a big screen television because he's at Wal-Mart and has an itch to spend, she's going to be f*cking livid and won't hesitate to put him in his place. And it'll be ugly. And Chuck Wagon won't see it coming.

It becomes creepy when it becomes an unhealthy obsession, like when guys download Asian porn all day long or when they go on sex trips to various parts of Asia. Like when I was in Thailand, I would see some dweeby looking 55-year-old, bald, overweight guy with some 18-year-old Thai girl...that was creepy. But when you see just a white/black/latino guy with an Asian girl, I don't see the problem.

The whole stereotype about Asian women is why a lot of international relationships typically don't work out. One thing that non-Asians had better understand about their Asian female spouses is that they're anything but subservient. Men are expected to go out and pull in a paycheck, but it's the woman who decides how that paycheck is spent. LOL...he is the head, she is the neck. My mom is a very quiet, very traditional Japanese wife---she still runs my dad's bath everyday (oh mommy, so sweet ). However, my siblings and I call her our very own "Iron Butterfly"...she rules the household-and always makes it appear that my dad makes all the decisions but we know better!

You know, I never thought about this until just now but before I started dating Asian women nearly all the non-Asian women I dated (a.k.a white women) had petite bodies. In fact the first serious girlfriend I had was 5'3" with a body of an Asian woman. Not to mention black hair (albeit curly). So maybe I am naturally attracted to petite women.

As far as good skin goes, I agree this is usually the case. However the second Asian woman I dated did not have good skin and she was my favourite by far. Kinda wish I were still dating her.

Oh God, this reminds me of a trip I had to Thailand. I got a guide for a few days. A worldly wise woman who was maybe in her 40s. She was great. After about 15 minutes of the whole professional tour guide thing, she lapsed into chatter about what she really thought of - well, pretty much anything we cared to talk about. I don't know how many times she made the fingers-rubbing-thumb gesture, but it was a gesture that accompanied many an entertaining tale.

Anyway, we were at the crocodile farm a couple of hours out of Bangkok. There we were, standing at an open display of silkworms creating silk when along came a man who looked to be in his sixties, holding hands with a girl who I assessed as about 17.

My guide was stuffing her mouth with dead silk worms and trying to persuade me to do the same. "Go on! Tastier than you might think!" The old guy with the teenage girlfriend got stuck in there and had a handful or two of corpses - then asked his girlfriend to try some. She shook her head and made a disgusted face. My guide said something to her which I obviously didn't understand. The girl made an even more miserable face - and she and her elderly boyfriend wandered away.

I turned to watch, and my heart just broke for this girl. Her whole body language screamed "I don't want this." You could see her hand just hanging limply, while the old guy clutched it. I felt like shouting after him "You old git. You can't be that stupid. You know that girl is completely creeped out by you - she couldn't make it more obvious. How can you blank that out so easily?"

So then I shared my thoughts with my guide, who nodded a bit - shrugged and made the finger rubbing gesture a few times.

"What was it you said to her?"

"I told her 'you are Thai. Don't pretend to be above eating silkworm. You'll have to do worse than that with your grandfather there."

By this point, I'm close to tears and the guide is getting all solicitous. "It's just that way here. Don't worry. Don't cry. It's fine."

"What do you think about it that stuff though? I mean, really?"

Shrug. "Lots of poverty here in Thailand, you know." Followed by another money gesture. Which she usually accompanied with an openly avaricious expression, but on this occasion she looked a little sad. I felt pretty horrible about the whole thing. As though maybe, by my upset reaction, I was pressing at a few old wounds. As she said, it can be a tough life and women have to develop a lot of toughness to deal with it. She said that the young girl we saw with the old guy would eventually harden up herself.

That was a few years ago. By now, that girl we saw with the old guy can probably make the money gesture as nonchalantly as my guide could.
