Take it from me, Dave -- I'm trying to move to San Francisco :p

I'm sorry but are you seriously moving there to hit on Asian women? That is creepy...

So all, but few, Asian women have pretty decent figures.

Again...not true.

You guys are seriously wearing Asian goggles. Asian women vary as much as women of any race do. The only thing I'd agree with is they are thinner on average.

Posted
I disagree with that. Every race has its own form of beauty.

Some people prefer almond-shaped blue/green/gray eyes or less flat faces, or curly/wavy red/blonde/brown hair.

It was intended more along the lines of how you would tell someone you have the most beautiful blue eyes.

Not as a statement of empirical fact, as in I literally examined every single set of eyes and the world and determined yours to be the highest quality of the sum total, but just as implied.

I just think it's silly to make an absolute statement like x race has the most beautiful x feature, when beauty comes in so many forms.

From an aesthetic standpoint, I don't know how somebody can claim that black straight hair is more attractive than wavy auburn hair, for example. It's like saying the color yellow is better than the color blue. It's entirely subjective.

You can have a personal preference for one over the other, but it's silly to make it a universal statement. Why not say "I prefer x over y?"

I hear you.

I feel the same way about people who literalize multiple statements in an inane and ultimately self deceiving attempt to appear intelligent, then bombard me with them on chatboards.

Actually, it is true....a good majority of Asians are of decent weight, when I see an Asian woman, she's always thin or average figured, America is the fatest country, believe you me.

Once in a while I'll see a fat Asian woman, but that's few and far between, heck, there's a Chinese restaurant with thin asian people serving the food. There's a thin hot Asian chick that's a cashier there. lol

The irony.

Next time you go out in public, you count how many thin asians there are compared to fat Americans.

I agree about Asians being thinner, but being thin alone doesn't a nice figure make. A lot of blanket statements in this thread.

Why on earth would you ask if it is "creepy" to only be attracted to Asian women? It is your preference and they are gorgeous women so go for it!

Because fixations lead to natural concerns with respect to motivation.

Example. I prefer dark haired women. Is that bad ? No

Is it coincidental that all the women in my family, includihng my mother, are naturally dark haired? Probably not.

I prefer shorter women even though in 6'5ft tall. Is that terrible? No. Although it does piss off tall women when they see you with someone who is short.

Is it coincidental that all the women in my family, includihng my mother, are naturally dark haired? Probably not.

If I could only be attracted to short dark haired women would that be weird? Yeah, I think it would be. Because now its not just preference, its fixation. And people would be right to question motivation. Is this a healthy stable guy, or someone with some mommy complex. Its a legitimate concern.

Now someone who says I am only attracted to a particular race may be entirely healthy. But it begs questions of motivation. And since it isnt a type, as all Asian women dont look the same, one begins to question if the fixation is due to some stereotype of Asian women that he harbors.

Lol.

Not all Asian women are beautiful, just like not all women of any race are beautiful. I find it funny that many white guys with asian fetishes seem to wear beer goggles when judging the beauty of asian women.

It's like they clump them all together and don't notice individual differences as much as they do with white women.

I've also heard Asian girls complain about this.

I think it's mainly because we, we meaning my people are different than whites. They find it intriguing, which is perfectly fine. I mean, I probably think some white women are really pretty but when asking white guys they say they are not.

It's like eating Chinese food. We Chinese know our food the best and some may seem strange to foreigners, but we rate some of our dishes the best. Well some Americans think Sweet and Sour pork is the best! Hey, we are happy because it's not real Chinese food and they are happy because they think it's good.

Right....I've seen white, blonde-bombshells say in their dating profiles, "Black men ONLY please"

Going back to Asian women, I THINK the common attraction that all men might have to them.

1. Long silky/shiney black hair...it's very beautiful....esp. if it's well managed.

2. Dark skinned asians, that natural tan is attractive of course....there completely fair skinned asians...but typicaly I have noticed Asian women have a great complexion ...almost flawless skin, hardly bad acne, blemishes, etc.

3. Their behaviour is typically more respectful towards their partners, more likely to be loyal....of course this is probably a stereotype as it stems from something cultural. They don't try to start fights with their mates or have some kind of chip on their shoulder.

They aren't as "Catty" with other women as well.

4. Their ethics are better than others. They have a good work ethic, well-mannered and respectful.

Just what I think though.

I remember I saw this posting in college that said, "Please visit our Japanese foreign exchange students at our BBQ in the Commons area"

I went there, and felt like a kid in a candy store, LOL

It was funny talking to Japanese women who didn't understand English, they brought a Japanese to English Translation dictionary so I was trying that out with them as I talked.

5. They're so cute and giggly when you try to talk to them (of course they could be laughing AT me, lol...but who cares, it's cute anyhow!)

Could the same thing be said about men who are only attracted to blondes?

Posted
That's actually a good point. The thing is I have heard people talk about having an "asian fetish" as if it were such a bad thing to be attracted to asian women. I think when it comes to attraction, though, everyone just has their own personal preferences.

Exactamundo! I think the word "fetish" is often incorrectly used. A couple of generations ago people didn't spread out as much as they do now. Travel was mainly within one's own country and moving to another country to live was practically unheard of among the majority of "middle-class" people in all countries. We are truly a global community now with more exposure to other races and cultures than at any time in history. Personal preference is human nature

I don't think it's odd. A friend of mine is half Malaysian, and she has gorgeous skin and hair. Another woman I know, who is Chinese, is in her eighties - but looks a good 20 years younger.

China is very up and coming as a world power, and international variations in IQ test results always indicate that the Chinese tend to have higher IQs than the rest of us. On a subconscious level we might be increasingly associating Chinese looks with success and status.

Survival of the fittest. Men are generally more ruthless than women when it comes to that kind of thing, but eventually women will catch on and start to reap the benefits from the surplus of single males in China. In 100 years time, everyone will look like they belong in one of those 1990s Bennetton adverts (the pretty melting pot pictures, I mean. Not the ones featuring Aids victims).

Think thats more of a preference, but I supppse it could be a fixation.

If you are tying it to intelligence in some way Im not getting, then its hard for me to discern as Ive never found blondes to be any different than other women intelligence wise.

The only time that would weird me out about someone, male or female, is when it strikes as a transparent means of public self gratification.

Such as those who constantly feel the need to telll everyone over and over again how "society doesnt understand their love, the judgemental looks, theyre all racists, why cant they see the beauty of our love..."

Ok....no issues here :o

Malaysia isn't a race. :p Sorry, just had to add that.

Are you suggesting half of my friend doesn't exist Elswyth? I won't have it.

I'm afraid so. ^^; Malaysians really are either Malay, Chinese, or Indian, for the most part. :)

I'll correct her next time then. Whenever anyone calls her Chinese, she comes over all superior and says "actually I'm half Malaysian". Is it a bit like a Scottish person getting huffy when someone refers to them as English?

Posted (edited)

Ehh, I would actually think it'd be the opposite. o.O Any Chinese who's been born and bred in Malaysia would get offended at having their race cited as Malaysian - or worse yet, Malay. ;) But Malaysian Chinese who've never lived in Malaysia and experienced the oppression and injustice directed at non-Malays, probably might think Malaysian sounds more exotic? Or maybe what she means is that she's half Malay - which is a legitimate race (and who also are eligible for 'benefits' reserved for Malays. ;))

I wouldn't be too fussed over what she's calling herself though - just wanted to point out a purely technical thing. Even our legal documents by the govt have 'Nationality: Malaysia' and 'Race: Chinese' in them, so it's kinda hard to ignore. ;)
