New_to_the_game Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Hi everyone, I'm recently back on the dating scene and I feel like I've lost my 'mojo'... thus my problem/question: I've been on seven dates with a girl, we both are in mid/late-20s, she's used to play soccer in college, we talked about it yesterday. Things seem to be going well. Today, by some sheer coincidence, I watched a CNN clip about Elizabeth Lambert (a really brutal soccer player for New Mexico) and I don't know why but I texted the girl I'm seeing: "I just saw a CNN clip about Elizabeth Lambert... Didn't know that women's college soccer is that brutal and rough!!! Now I'm just afraid of messing with you Anyways, just thought about you and hope you'll have a nice day." Three hours later I got a text from her: "Haha, yeah she is crazy. Hope you are having a good day as well!" I am probably over thinking but, did I freak her out? Was it too much too soon? Gee, my 'mojo' is gone... P.S. These are exact transcripts...
radwimps Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I doubt you freaked her out at all. There are a couple possibilities for this text back: -She didn't care much about the topic/ or know much about the topic(Most likely), therefore she didn't think that a conversation about Elizabeth L would go anywhere. -She was somewhat busy, so she could only reply in a hasty manner It seems to me that, she would have just liked to avoid a conversation about this topic Elizabeth L(I saw this clip before as well, Brutal!). But no, you didn't freak her out at all, no worries(You can tell from the "Hope your having a good day as well!"). My 2cents is, keep your side of the spectrum calm and less analytical, it will be much easier for you while dating
New Again Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 My advice is to just be confident that she was pleased and/or excited and/or happy that you texted that you thought of her. Didn't you hear? Girls like confidence.
JustLooking123 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Don't worry, I would have found that funny. Be careful not to read too much into the "tone" of text messages. Everything she said was positive; it's not like she was going to respond with some over-the-top reaction, right? I'm sure everything is fine.
jerseyboy Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 LOL Do you over think everything this much You must be an emotional wreck dude
jerseyboy Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Well That said the text was pretty lame She now knows you have no sense of humor, and even worse, are prone to bombard her with it in the form of text messages. Yeah I would definitely worry

Yeah I would definitely worry Can you elaborate more im curious to your point of view of this situation. IMO she texted you back when she could have just ignored you, it was a close ended text but I would not over think that.
SoulSearch_CO Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 WTF? Calm down, dude. There wasn't ANY creeper vibe in what you wrote, nor was there ****-off-creeper coming from her text.
