Agoraphobianebula Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 My boyfriend does little nice things for me, sends me flowers, dances with me, kisses my forehead in public and all those mushy cutesy things. I on the other hand have no romantic bone in my body. I have no idea how to reciprocate. What does romance mean to men? Besides regular sex and being nice to you. What can a woman do to show that she appreciates you?
GorillaTheater Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Sex, admiration, sex, saying how much you respect him, sex, tickets to a ball game, and sex.
threebyfate Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Romantic evening with a man: Food, usually represented by vast quantities of protein-rich foods. Avoid soya-based protein.Alcoholic beverage of their choice.Several kinds of athleticism, like sex in combination with sports.Shut up.
A O Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 What does romance mean to men? Romance, in a general sense, is the physical manifestation of all we know in a partner, usually displayed via thoughtful acts or words. In short, its thoughtfulness, so the more you know about your partner the easier it is to do. What can a woman do to show that she appreciates you?If you know what interests him, then do something built around those lines. Again, its about showing that you actually know a lil bit about the guy. .
Thornton Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Cook for him, especially nice things that he likes and can't cook for himself. Perhaps even make him a special dinner at home, with wine and candles etc. Plan an evening together - rent a movie and buy popcorn, or even plan an evening out that you'll pay for. Take him to an exhibition, or out for dinner, or even just for a walk. What makes it romantic is that you've made the effort to plan something in advance that you think he'll like. Give him something small that you know he'll like. A pen, a bar of chocolate, a bookmark, or some other silly little thing. The price isn't important; the romance is in the idea that you thought of him and brought him a little something. Buy him a magazine that he likes, then run him a bath, and let him read his magazine in the bath while you sort out dinner. Towelling him down afterwards is optional If you see something that would interest him, save it and give it to him later. It could be a newspaper clipping, or a link to an article he'd like to read, the point being that you saw it and were thoughtful enough to save it for him. Rub his feet. Men like it too, but women rarely seem to do it although they like it done to themselves. Make an effort when it comes to sex. A new toy, new lingerie, a few new tricks, whatever - just something different from the same old thing. Men love to feel like their woman desires them. Doing something unselfish and spontaneous is always a big hit - like a random BJ the second he wakes up in the morning, or while he's watching tv and isn't expecting it.
sedgwick Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 (edited) How about doing the exact same things he's doing for you? Oh, and the "show him some sports and shut up" thing? Uh, not so much. Edited November 19, 2009 by sedgwick
SoulSearch_CO Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Sex, admiration, sex, saying how much you respect him, sex, tickets to a ball game, and sex. I'm sensing a theme, here.
Boundary Problem Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Let him sleep with your gf's:) This has me totally distracted. I think that staying in shape and being attractive is the most romantic thing you can do for a boyfriend.
reservoirdog1 Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 1. Bring food. 2. Show up naked. Seriously, cooking him a great meal, candlelight, all that, with you wearing something outrageously sexy... that'd do it for me.
jerseyboy Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 This has me totally distracted. I think that staying in shape and being attractive is the most romantic thing you can do for a boyfriend. Distracted? The comment or the thought of your bf cheating? I was just being playful. Hasve nothing to really add. Romance is different for everyone., The things I find romantic probably wouldnt work for her.
Ruby Slippers Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I think romance is about making that person's day (and/or night ). What would make his day? Do that.
deux ex machina Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 It depends on the mood. Varied experiences keeps romance fresh. Now: pretty lingerie, candlelight, massage, whispering naughty things in his ear...it is about connection. At another time it could be something else - be receptive to eachother.
tryagaintoday Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I'm easy to please. 1. Little things. Like helping me to button my sleeves when it looks like I'm having trouble. 2. Cook for me. 3. A thinking of you/missing you text here and there.
