mortensorchid Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I had this situation a while ago that I never reported on, once again it involves the horrors of Facebook. Several weeks ago, I was on Facebook and sent an Instant Message to someone purely by mistake. I thought this man was someone else who was a friend of a mutual friend. Once I realized this wasn't the same person (who I meant to contact over an RSVP to a party he was throwing), I apologized and told him I thought he was someone else. We then began to chat about other things just because. We agreed to talk on the phone at some point, and we did just that. He said he would call me as he hoped we could get together and have dinner sometime. We made a semi-solid plan for Wednesday of next week. I heard nothing from him. He sends me an Instant Message on Friday after the missed Wednesday and said he was busy that day, but didn't exactly say he was sorry. Then he asked if we could get together again. I said "Yeah, sure, give me a call". He never did. I go to his Facebook page and see that on the days he said he was too busy he had photos posted of him with friends drinking and things. I deleted him from my friend list as well as his number from my cell. Never heard another word from him again until today. He wrote me an email through Facebook saying "Got crazy busy, how was your trip?" (refering to a trip I took the first week in November). Inconsiderate. I hate guys. I have no beef with Facebook for these circumstances, but I hate how inconsiderate others are.
Juno123 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 You met this guy online so why do you expect him to take it seriously? People usually don't.
Waitress Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I think you did the right thing deleting and then ignoring him. No need to waste your time with inconsiderate people. I swear, some people lose like 50 IQ points when they log into Facebook.
V.Vixen Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 It's happened to me before, too. You did the right thing by deleting.
IrishCarBomb Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Someone I know added photos of me yesterday. They had pictures of me in a Halloween costume. Cheers.
