b52s Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 There's this woman I know that has a boyfriend staying in Thailand for an extended period of time, but is coming to visit for the Holidays and stuff. You know the type of LDR, typically it's sometimes during the college years....one girl stays home or goes to a diff. college, the other is somewhere else...far ...far away. She's been hanging with some of our friends lately...but she seems to have taken a liking to this one particular guy when we go out bowling or doing other activities, she's rather touchy feely with him, and they're always joking around....actually I think they make a cute "couple" LOL (Personally I think they get along rather well) Anyhow, you can tell on her social networking site she's got tons of photos with him and her boyfriend together....so it's obviously serious. Me and him keep in touch email-wise talking about dating and stuff, then I ask him, "So it looks like you and <her name> have some pretty good chemistry going on....looks like you're hitting it off....plan on going anywhere from there?" No reply on that one. But when the boyfriend's away, the mice shall play? That being said, I can imagine how difficult it can be for an LDR to work out, esp. when you start meeting other men who ARE geographically desirable and going out in a group as friends, but sometimes....flirting and even "touching" can happen. Let me put it this way, I've seen people do things when they'r boyfriends/ girlfriends are out of town, and believe me the sig. other would go nuts if they ever knew about it...but of course, if they're not there, and they don't know about it...what harm can it do right? BUt this is usually par for the course, the person can't just stay home all the time, she has to find a bunch of friends to hang with, but if it's a mixture of men and women, well.....things "can" happen. Sometime it's not sexual eitehr, but the "sexual tension" and "touching/flirting" is always there. I have known guy friends to mess around with "taken" women in LDR's before....is that appropriate? For instance, if you're boyfriends off to college, and you go out with a bunch of guys and girls dancing, would you let said male friends feel you up with a little "grindin" action on the dancefloor? That being said, with the boyfriend/girlfriend off in the military or college...do you find it hard not to "stray"??
aerogurl87 Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I was in a LDR and both my ex and I were tempted to stray. Unfortunately we both acted on our temptations in the long run and ended up breaking up, which in the grand scheme of things is good I guess because it just shows we weren't meant to be together.
